EB was one of those things I randomly discovered after I got bored with vanilla R:TW.
The first thing that I discovered was that R:TW could allow you to play as all factions rather than just the eight that I could play as after my long Scipii campaign. I played half a short campaign as Armenia and then gave up out of boredom.
Next I discovered the Org and joined one month later. Then, after finding that I could post nowhere but the Entrance Hall, left to go travelling with other games. I went back to the Settlers HoK, Settlers Hok Expansion Disk, AoE III and AoM The Titans. Soon enough I got bored again and decided to go back to Rome. I got bored again after playing three turns as the Julii.
Next I discovered that R:TW could be modded. At the same time I discovered TW Centre and EB, although at this stage I didn't know how to play EB with R:TW Gold so I didn't download or play it. The first mod I tried was Lusted's TE. This brought me back to the R:TW engine. I played a Carthaginian campaign successfully and met the victory conditions. After another few turns as the Epriots I gave up, partially because, although the skins were redone and it was very exceptional work, the units were the same, the traits were similar, the building system was the same and the play experience was only slightly better than vanilla. I needed a complete change from vanilla. It was time to go looking for something that was a true complete conversion.
Next I tried the highly aclaimed R:TR PE. I played a quarter of a campaign as the Romans and I must say that I found it most boring. I enjoyed it for a while and then got completely tired of it. Although it had beautiful skins and units it too was too much like vanilla for my liking so I left it and went in search of another mod.
At this point I re discovered EB and downloaded it following Bonny's guide on how to install EB with R:TW Gold. I played for three months completing a Carthaginian campaign and a Makedonian campaign till 0.8 was released. I am now enjoying myself playing a Selucid campaign. I cannot thank EB enough for providing me with an amazing gameplay experience that I will enjoy for years into the future.
