Ah, well Teleklos Archelaou explained it in another thread about the 2000 downloads. It's the beta bit of the mod's name that makes advertising rather difficult, and the numbers aren't on EB's side (the zero in front), according to him...

Though I kinda like it when a mod isn't being advertised all that much: IMO, it leaves modders more time to put their effort in modding, and perfecting their mod.

I heard about EB in the RTR forums, in one of those RTRvEB arguements. I thought, "A game about the barbarians, yuck." When I tired of RTR and resonses on the RTR forum got increasingly cranky, I thought I would check out this "barbarian mod" and was pleasantly suprised.

Heh, I was just kidding, 20k downloads for a mod, although an awesome mod, is a lot. Maybe I should change my handle to "Sarcasm."

Well I was tired on vanilla and started to search after some mods.
I found two realy interesting ones, EB and RTR. But EB hadent come out with some beta, so I started to play RTR...And it was realy good and fun.
But I couldent forget EB forum so I looked in there everyday to see if anything had happend. Then one day they released 0.72....And man I havent played any other mod since that day. Becouse I understod already in that early stage that this was something with an enormous potential.

So thanks again EB team for this monster mod. I cant thank u enough!!!

As for me, I was playing RTW vanilla in Dec. 04 and quickly wanted something more realistic. I saw RTR and downloaded and started playing it pretty soon after getting the game. Talking with shigawire about a Latin and Greek voice mod he wanted to develop, he told me about this "EB" thing. I was sceptical at first but he kept telling me how good it was and I took a further look at it (it had no snazzy forum or site like RTR did at the time). I then joined the team quite hesitantly and continued to work on the voice mod, then started pointing out other stuff I thought needed changing (map mostly at first, then issues with the makeup of the KH faction, etc.). That was my introduction to it all. I eventually started working on a few other small things in the mod.
