    Default Trouble with Sieging

i'm not really sure why this happens, at first i thought it was because i didnt have any siege equipment left but, in my last siege on caen i had two siege towers a battering ram and a catapult left. Anyway what happens is that i'll start the siege and eveythings going ok but then suddenly it'll say i lost the battle and when it goes back to the strategic map any family members involved in the siege die...is it assassination? i didnt think it was that because i didnt think assassinations effected battles but...atm i'm just confused, 50% of my sieges are now ending up like this..

medieval 2 total war with the newest patch...and i just played the historical battle where your the spanish vsing the moors and sieging their castle...i sent my knights (think the dismounted chivalric ones) into the breach and all of a sudden it said i'd been defeated, i only had casualties in two units...

Did you run out of time?

The results you describe parallel those I've achieved when I "lost by the clock" -- since its easier to lose track in a siege assault then elsewhere.

If not, then it sounds like a little bug that CA needs to squash.

If you lose "to the clock" the AI determines randomly the severity of your casualties incurred during the retreat from battle. It has been my experience in RTW that a total wipeout of all forces is somewhat MORE likely in this instance than during an all-routed field battle defeat.
