    Default Bi.exe

What is this? is it just the Barbarian invasion .exe file that comes with a regular install or somthing? or is it some special .exe hidden away deep within the bowles of EB? (spelling on that 3rd to last word ) if IT IS just the regular BI.exe i need to keep 1.5 right? not update to 1.6?

When you install BI, it puts two .exes in your RTW folder: RTW.exe and RTW-BI.exe. The -BI.exe features slightly better AI, especially with respect to naval invasions. You can run original RTW with the BI.exe using the mod switch in the command line and no mod name afterward. You can also change your EB shortcut to refer to the -BI.exe (keep all the switches the same) so that EB plays using the better -BI .exe. There are issues associated with setting some preferences, custom and historical battles, and you'll have to launch a provincial campaign to start a campaign.
1.5 is the final patch to RTW, 1.6 is the BI version of that same patch, so you will need the 1.6 patch (I think). At least, it's not causing me any problems.

No, just ensure that you have patched to 1.6, and not 1.5. Then go into your EB shortcut on your desktop. Right click go into properties. Once in properties, go to the "target" and replace whats there with this "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:eb -nm -show_err and your done.
