Go to 'multiplayer' in the main menu. then go to something like 'play by EA|Play' and then you get to a screen to slect a name. you can click login there.

But there's few people left playing this game in multiplayer, so you'll have a hard time finding someone to play with. MSN or this forum are good ways to contact people for games.
