I know and understand, that's whatMan am I having connection problems. A big shout-out to Charter Cable! I wrote a long reply to this, and now it's lost forever. Short version:
I would never single someone out at a love-in for derisive laughter; that would be in poor taste. So when I say "X makes me laugh," I'm referring to their humor, not to their serious arguments.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.
