Hi Irish Soldier, thanks for posting.

First off, I'm sorry that you're having such trouble, the lack of an installer is obviously a weakness in ATW, which should hopefully be addressed in the next update.

As to what you should do, I'll repost a step-by-step guide I made at TWC a while ago:
    1) Extract the ATW file somewhere, like your desktop. It should create a folder called "ArthurianTW"

    2) Open this folder. Inside should be two additional folders "bi" and "Data" as well as a number of readme files and such.

    3) Select everything inside the ArthurianTW folder (not the folder itself) and copy it.

    4) Go to your main RTW 1.6 installation (not the BI subfolder or anything like that, the main one) and paste. You should be asked to overwrite files, click "Yes" NOTE: If it doesn't say anything about overwriting that's a good indication that it isn't being installed correctly.

    5) Run RTWBI.exe to start playing.

That's really all there is to the installation. A good sign that things have gone correctly is that there should be several new readmes and an icon file "arthurian.ico" in your main RTW directory.
However, if normal BI isn't working before you do this, it may be a good idea to uninstall RTW altogether and reinstall. (Uninstall both BI and RTW in Control Panel, then reinstall RTW, then BI, then apply the BI 1.6 patch) It's also a good idea to make a copy of your RTW folder which you can use for mods (just copy the main RTW folder ((C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome Total War or whatever it is)) and paste it somewhere else, although this needs a lot of space)

If BI is working, then try following the steps above. Hope you enjoy the mod, and hopefully future versions won't be so complicated.
