    Default History of EB

Would it be possible, while still respecting privacy, for someone to post a short outline of the EB project? I mean how and when did you all come together and a trace of the development of the mod; a history of the history, as it were. I'm interested because it's such an amazing collaboration, and all in cyberspace, that it's got to have apllications/ramifications well beyond it's sphere. I think it's a story just waiting to be told.

We don't really have anything like a timeline inside the mod. Even a list of previous members - which is something we should (we just keep updating the list of current members and their tasks). We actually did have someone who joined the team to write a doctoral dissertation on how the mod team worked (his research was focused on the general concept of game modding and was to use our mod as an example) (we know. we were shocked too ) and that would have included a lot of its history, but unfortunately soon after joining there was an extreme family emergency and the member had to leave.

If you were interested, and needed someone to pull whatever info you have together, I would be more than happy. You could pm me any info you do have, and I could conduct email 'oral' interviews with other members. I hope and presume that there are people who still remember how things got started. Then I could put everything together in a short form and send it to you privately for approval, and it could be posted. It just seems a shame to me to lose this story, but I understand that it would be a low priority for the real team. I do think that there would be a lot of interest in the playing community for a short history of how their game came to be built. So I'm offering my assistance.

If you're not interested, no hard feelings or anything.

    Hi there,
I like this idea. It would be nice to see deep into the past of EB, from the beginning, to right now and perhaps even way into the mysterious and fuzzy future, should EB mind losing some confidentiality, that is.

I would also love to see a history of EB...I have always wondered what goes on in the back where it gets made.

I wonder why haven't you modded RTW credits yet.We could see some history,EB offices and members, occupying them just in the game by watching the credits accompanied by great EB music.:)
(BTW I've recently found a song in music.dat, something like RTW frontend theme, but with girl's vocals!Quite pretty one!)

Well if you want a primary source regarding the origins/early stages of EB you could read the sticky thread "Europa Barbarorum". It's quite insightful as to how it all began.

I'm not one of the original folks, but from what I understand it went something like this:

In A.D. 2004 EB was beginning.

    AYMAR: What happen?
KHELVAN: Somebody set up us the Rome.
    TELEKLOS ARCHELAOU: We get signal.
    AYMAR: What!!
    EPISTOLARY RICHARD: TheOrg turn on.
    AYMAR: It's you!!
    CA: How are you gentlemen!!
CA: All your barbarians are belong to us.
CA: You are on the way to ahistoricity.
    AYMAR: What you say!!
CA: Barbs have no chance to survive make your time.
    CA: Ha ha ha ha...
    KHELVAN: What happen!!
    AYMAR: Take off every 'model'!!
AYMAR: You know what you doing.
    AYMAR: Create 'model'.
    AYMAR: For great justice.

Well EB was originally formed as a schollarly group to gather information on RTW's Barbarian factions, CA rejected the use of such information and rest, as they say, is history.

The "nobody likes a know-it-all" principle hand-in-hand with the "cheap, detailed, or quickly: only ever two of the three" truism.
