Game crashes, can't continue?

Many months into campainge and suddenly the game crashes consistantly at the same point. I'm holding Vilnus, beseaged by a large Turmids army with my first encounters of war elephants.

Decide to rally forth and attack.

After deploying, I start battle.

Two minutes later game crashes!!!

Tried fresh boot, same result.

Any suggestions.

This is my first problem with the programme, major bummer!

Have you upgraded to the latest version? There's a known crash bug with the timurids that the patch fixes.

I have been looking for the latest update.

Are there a recomended install, update, mod, patch list available?

The only update I have downloaded is VICES & VIRTUES v1.1

Not mods, i mean the official update patch.

Good man, just down loaded v1.1 patch, just about to install it.

I did look on more than one occasion for updates for the game, could not see the woods for the trees. Or was it my beer goggles?

I had crashes when the game loaded an auto save, if you go back a bit and use a save you made yourself it works with no crash.
