Thread: Favorite Musical themes?

    Cool Favorite Musical themes?

Just an insubstantial post, about what musical themes you like best of MTW. For the sake of challenge and annoying anyone with more than one favorite, let´s limit it to three.

Mine are Euro Mobilize 2, Arab Winter 2 (I think it´s 2), and Viking Victory.

My favourite has always been the Viking Victory theme because it's a nice, plump little dance reflecting the amateur spirit of this (M:TW) game.

I would have to say Arab Battle 1, Arab Tension 1, & Arab Summer 2. I think the music is half the reason I enjoy the Muslim factions so much (and the Eggies in particular).

As with Martok I prefer the arab music to the european. The Viking music I did like at first, but I now find it slightly annoying. There is one particular one, I think it's either arab battle 1 or 2 that is about the best. It has that shrill warble at the start, usually signifying that the Turcoman Horse have sighted the enemy and begun to loose arrows at them.

I think it´s Arab Combat 2. Personally, I find the "Mobilizes" better than the combat themes, and whereas "Euro Mobilize 2" is one of my overall favorite themes, I admit that Euro Combat themes are far worse than the Arab counterparts (my favorite arab combat theme is that one that starts with an irrintzi, or however you call that kind of scream)

My other favorite, Arab Winter 2 (In my personal musical files renamed to "Al Andalus", once transformed to Mp3), is the slow one with a storm playing underneath. It´s quite themish for muslim factions, once you´ve cut your way into Europe, or are already in it. It´s not hard to imagine Almansur (or, Miramamolin, rather, as he was of the Almohad dinasty caliphs), sitting in a campaign tent under a light north rain, planning his onslaught against London, Paris, or Genoa...

Quite possibly the "warbling" one I was referring to in my last post.

eversince i've found through the SWarlords mod that the MTW music themes can be substituted with others if you use the same file type and the same track title, i've been very tempted to make my own musical version with my favorite 13th century hymns and dead can dance.

It still remains an idea, but someday i'll put it in good use...

I added some custom music files of my own. The 1492 theme (not the "sailing" one, the ominous one that plays in the title theme) as one of the arab mobilize themes, and "Journey to Transilvania" from this film of Van Helsing, which was mindboogingly stupid as a movie, but nonetheless had some good music tracks (some, not all)

I thought we were asked to chose one of three themes mentioned by initial poster. My bad.

Never mind that I put Vivaldi's Four Seasons under each Italian campaign, Mussorgsky under every Russian campaign, etcetera...

Viking Win 1, Arab Battle 1, Euro Mobilize 3 and XL Battle 1.
