    Default Crysis

Have you seen what the new engine from Crytek can do if you have a good enough PC? The game will make good use of the existing DX9 and the upcoming DX10, as the engine will be a total perfect(?!) optimized BEAST, which will blow you away!

Guide to the game Crysis: http://www.incrysis.com/

Take a look at those screenshots, eh? Eh!? Look at 'em! Look at 'em and weep, and shiver, and get dizzy. Not only will the game look good, the gameplay (FPS genre) will be tight, but I wonder how tight.
Looks to me like it's basically an upgrade from the previous Far Cry whose engine was also a killer in 2004. And I don't mean just the engine, but the setting. I fear (- another game I must play -) Crysis will not prove to be groundbreaking when it comes to pure technical gameplay, as much effort seems to be pointed towards graphics. But that won't stop me from getting it...
...and even getting a new PC. Yes, that's right. I think this game is a good reason to upgrade to a new system. A new system and a new game making full use of DX10.

*looks at some screens* Oh my goodness, it looks so real This is truly one of those games that will set a new standard. I wonder if there'll be a new HL3, using a newly developed Source engine of some kind to counter Crysis, as Far Cry and Half-Life 2 were released at about the same time.

It's amazing in terms of gameplay potentials as well. They have some nice physics, locational damage on vehicles etc. The customizability of your weapon/combat suit is also interesting.

I just hope the console version isn't completely different from the PC version. A la Far cry-Far cry:instincts.

True. It looks to be very interesting. Actually I can't wait to lift up heavy stuff and cause mayhem on that island.

I don't know for certain. There was a forum which I occasionally visited for information, but it seems to be down. I recall I had seen certain threads and posts regarding a demo.

Here is some news I found, however. You can almost be certain a demo will arrive before its release.

There's also a beta out on Fileplanet apparently. But seems to be registered users or paying users only or some such thing.

That's probably "batch 1". I recall vaguely they will release beta keys in batches where the first one is only reserved for members of some club I think and people who were lucky enough to be at some games convention or something where keys were handed out. The second batch will be there shortly enough I think.

Wish I could be more excited, but I've seen this tactic before, when it was called far cry. A very beautiful game with gameplay issues that made it very less then fun.
