Thread: Any simple mods?

    Default Any simple mods?

I'm looking for a basic mod, something that barely scratches what the devs intended. I think I'll wait for a two handed fix until Feb, but there were some little things I was hoping were included in some mods.

The shield wall thingie. I just got done reading about that in the shield bug thread, and that would be completely awesome. I'd unpack the files and alter it myself, but I don't have the space on my HD to unpack 7 gigs worth of files.

VnV's fix. I'd really like to see some of those traits and such that are programmed in but triggers are broken.

Any recommended mods that make small changes?

I'm kind of new to using mods, so I am a bit worried that a mod will make the game less stable. Has this happened before? Is there a risk of this now?
If I wanted to be [jerked] around and have my intelligence insulted, I'd go back to church.

I do not think any of VnV fixes can make your game less stable. There are several of them in MTW2 mod section. They usually only replace one text file.

If you're looking for game fixes, you might want to check this one out:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=72874

The author focused on fixing bugs, and didn't rebalance or introduce new features.

I downloaded the mod and tried it last night. So far, my system is stable. I haven't noticed a change, other than the fact that my 2h units are worth building now.
