I maintain copies of all my material, i can prove whats mine and what isn't.

As I am not a frequent visitor of the TWC (primarily due to the lack of time) I am unable to pass any judgement with regard to who is the blame, but it is quite sad to see a popular TW-site in such distress, and it is obvious that some people (whoever that might be) apparently set some wrong priorities here and put personal pride above the service for the community (which should be the purpose of such a site)

All the best for setting up the new site, guys - and I hope that all the work that a lot of community members invested in the content of TWC is not lost...

Two weeks ago I broke down and registered at TWC because of all the mods and I thought maybe I should get involved in a community I have, lets face it, leeched off of since MTW. I was just getting comfortable posting every once in a while when BOOM! TWC blows up in my face. I can come only one conclusion: it's my fault. I broke a sacred covenant. I am a Lurker and at no time should I EVER register at a forum. I knew this and did it anyway and the Forum Gods were watching and were much displeased. So they smote TWC in their righteous fury. My bad.

TWC has been a time bomb waiting to go off. In setting up a "new TWC" (whatever it's name may be) please do not sow the seeds that led to this - i.e. avoid internal politics, have modding of at least the same importance as the rest of the community (and not a poor relative), and don't be so concerned about titles and patronages (get rid of them if you ask me).

But I pretend no great insight or experience - just my honest opinion. Learn from the Org.

Well, i was unbanned too it seemed. and before the site went down.
I was reading several threads that with logs from the new admin (priase the fearless leader) had been telling people on the IRC channel the site would be shut down, while it was re-made. before that also, i noticed large chucks of the forums being deleted. such as the mod forums.

You know, watching this whole thing go down over the course of the day kept reminding me of the Death Star scene in Star Wars, whatching helplessly like Leia Organa as Alderaan was obliterated for no other good reason than a show of force.

Reading what I could before the site went down (can't get to it now, or any other ON board for that matter) there was some changes that needed to be made, and heavy politicing for and against. Won't say I think anyone was right or wrong, but I can say it has definitely not handled in the best way. Not where the TW community as whole is concerned.

It was a great site that, much like here, I lurked around a lot on and just started to become an 'active' member on. Hope things get resolved and it gets back on its feet, or the new site the banished memebrs are talking about starting gets off its feet and can replace it.
