    Default Making Cavalary more balanced

    Hi guys,

    i am not a modder but would like to hear some responses to my idea to make cavalary more balanced . Right now there are to powerfull. I liked the approach from Lusted in his mod with lowering the charge factor.

    Now based on this would it be possible to mod the game that the cavalary could use their lance to charge only once then they break . That used to happen in medieaval times , then the knights would carry on with their swords or maces.

    So basically you would get one tood charge and then after that youre charges are reduced to swords. That way youre cavalary has still the effect that they punch a hole in the defenses but afterwards the spearman have a better chance to beat them.

    Another thought would be then that you would be able to upgrade youre lances in a building .... maybe swordsmith guild to get better lances for more powerfull charges. Cavalary with armoured horses after their lance broke will have some more advantage in fighting infantry ... maybe with a special ability "trample" . good against low class infantry like peasants or militia units.

    Anyways would like to hear from you guys if that would be a viability to mod , and if it would be balanced.

    Now another question ,regarding the AL recruting to many artillery. would it be possible to mod that you restricted to build more then 2 artillery in any given army .

    And for balancing the AL that he uses higher tier units, would it be possible to tell the AL that from a certain date he can only built high or late tier units.

    think that was a long post , but i thought i throw in all my thoughts in one thread .

    i agree with you charges are too powerful to be able to repeat. i cant beleive so many people complain that it doesnt work. and its true that lances will have to be replaced i mean even if it didnt break where did the knight put it while he faught his way through the melee?? are they like retractable lances?

    maybe to duplicate the knight being brought extra lances by his servants ech unit gets a certain number of "full" charges per battle.

    Well... to be honest, there is ONE way to make the lances break on impact and that's to try to make a point blank ranged weapon with one ammo point.

    Now here's the tricky part: Making them slam into the enemy.

    But that's theoretical...

    You could just explain it off as Knights being able to goto the rear and pick up more lances. If you make that assumption, you could just jack with the stamina options and make it so that knights can only charge a few times and they're spent.
