Weird sally bug

Playing as Pahlava, I'm getting this really weird bug trying to sally out to attack the besieging Baktrian army: the game kind of freezes, though I can still scroll map, fast load game, and ESC to the options. The battle menu never shows up and the only option for me is to quit or reload. Tried restarting EB and even rebooting computer and still the same. A relief army works, and the garrison comes out to help, but the sally itself just doesn't work. This is totally new for me, I've made literally thousands of sallies and never had this happen

Here is the save file, hope anyone can recreate this. No clue if it's some RTW bug or EB bug, just that it never happened to me in all the years I been playing this

I don't know that anyone has a clue as to why there would be problems or ctd's when units sally. It makes no sense to us. I'm tempted to say it's got to be an RTW bug, but I really don't know. We don't think we have messed with anything that should cause problems with that element. If anyone has the slightest idea, please let us know. Thankfully, as you said, this is very very rare.

I hate to say this, but when playing as Pahlava, I had a very similar bug about four different times. In each case it wasn't technically a sally (there was no siege), but rather an attempt to march the entire garrison out of the city and attack a nearby enemy stack. In my case you could move the cursor around, and scroll the map, but the game was locked and had to be hard-stopped using alt-ctrl-delete.

The only solution was to march the army outside the city, stop, and then attack the enemy stack on the second march. In the graphic below, you can see the ghostly image of my city garrison near the enemy force (that's where it locked up), and the hourglass which spins perpetually.

I just had (and continue to have) this problem with Pahlava, sallying out to attack an AS army besieging me in Bagdad. Was there ever a resolution?
