I got a loan of Obvlivion off a friend for about 2 days. I managed to complete the main quest and then tried to grab gamerpoints. It was fun and interesting although the story was like something I had seen before. Actually it reminded me of Final Fantasy X.

Also play unranked Gears of War nearly every night with some friends I met online. Very sociable game, fun too.

Also play COD 3 online ranked. I am ok with Axis but excel with the Allies. Allied Rifleman M1 Garand makes most other weapons obsolete at long range except snipers on some maps. Heavy Assault BAR is just like the Garand but with 20 in a clip and can be reloaded at any time (trick is to use it as a rifle rather than holding in the fire button which makes it inaccurate and difficult to see with). I love switching between those if I find them lying around.

Recently, I've been playing X-Com: Ufo Defense. The game has a fairly large number of niggling little issues, but the core concept and gameplay is still very solid, despite the game's age.

Anyone play this game? You sneak up and stealth kill people, it's a more realistic simulation of ninjas, quite the contrary to Ninja Gaiden.

Started playing some Dawn of War again, the original campaign for the first time and a little bit of dark Crusade (campaigning as Chaos).

I sense that Firaxis and Sid Meier might be making a remake of this in the near future.

Do you play Company of Heroes too? I recently ordered this game upon the reccomendation of Econ21, but it hasn't come yet. It's made by the same developer and is critically acclaimed.

I played around with the demo for a bit. Overall I think I like it less than DoW for two reasons, first of all DoW has much more interesting source material (from a gaming point of view) while CoH is limited to WWII units, I prefer the more original and more diverse DoW universe (it has zombie robots, what WWII game can say that ?) and secondly I don't think the base building/resource system is an improvement, the system is roughly the same as in DoW with capturing points, but now you have three (I think) resources and have to take into account supply lines. Overall I just thought the skirmish game offered in the demo was less fun than a DoW skirmish.

    But it looks beautiful though.

Little bit of Mortal Wombat for the Wii. Pretty cool, but making special moves got a little bit too easy imvho, and to make up for that they made the AI hidiously hard to beat. Still fun playing with a friend, but while the moves are easy to pull of, the learning curve for doing so is very steep; people find it unresponsive at first (it isn't, just takes a while before get it) and go for the classic controller, which gives the wiimote holder an unfair advantage because he doesn't have to move to do special moves, like in scorpio's spear for example, you can throw it while moving forward if you use the wiimote. Still a good fighting game, but way too hard, to play and to get into. For hardcore gamers only.

I just decided to stop playing WoW (for the 21.367th time), and re-installed Heroes of Might and Magic 5, with the Hammer of Fate addon. Since I've never finished vanilla game, I'm doing the campaigns once again before having a look at HoF.

If you are addicted to WoW, a terrible sin, I know the remedy. Guaranteed to work 100% or your money back.

    Step 1. Turn on Computer.
    Step 2. Log in.
Step 3. Open up Control Panel.
    4. Double left click Add and Remove programs.
    5. Scroll down to World of Warcraft.
    6. Breathe deeply.
    7. Click Remove.
    8. Confirm Yes.
    9. Go wash your hands (by now they will be sweaty).

    10. Find World of Warcraft cd.
    11. Place thumbs about 3 inches apart on CD, with the rest of your fingers on the other side.
    12. Apply 1KG force with fingers upwards, and 1KG force downwards with thumbs, twisting the CD until it shatters into several hundred pieces.

    13. Enjoy the rest of your life.

Trying out KOTOR2. Loved the first one, no idea why I never bothered to pick this up. I was watching Episode 3 with my 8 year old nephew the other day, and that was enough to make me wanna try out the Dark Side in another CRPG. So far, it's really enjoyable.

I'm also playing MTW2 again after a month or two hiatus, the 1.2 patch and the mod Stainless Steel have breathed incredible new life into that game for me.

Lots of Battlefield 2, with the occassional small binge on Sim City 4. Lots of tasty mods make it much better. Shame Rush Hour is so unstable and every now and then CTD's.

Picked up Hitman Contracts for 5 €.

Finished the 2nd mission yesterday evening (the mission where you need to kill the "Meat King" and his lawyer):

    Silent Assasin rating

I was afraid my assasin skills would have become rusty, since it's been several years since I finished Hitman 2. Apparantly I still got the touch.

Hardly playing games but if I do it is usually in the Org's Arcade and any game I find there for personal amusement purposes. Their simplicity is relieving.

Whoohoo! I've finished Dragon Quest VIII! 68:47 hours! Months of playing! Finished!

It's probably the JRPG I enjoyed the most since ... I don't remember when. I liked the way it played to its classic, almost cliched theme and plot, turning it into a joke. Yet when it counted it was still touching. The gameplay side of things was as good. The random battles were rarely too frequent and there were many means to cut down on them, as well as a flee command which actually worked (gasp!) and the ability to intimidate low level enemies into running away.

I saw both endings, but didn't do everything. I couldn't see the point in spending hours in the casino gambling to get the best equipment, or grinding to boost my characters another 20 levels to take on the completely pointless extra bosses. Much as I enjoyed the game, after 68 hours enough is quite enough.

Still working my way through FFVI.

Pretty long game, though it still doesn't beat my initial run through FFVIII of more than 100 hours (nearly 120 iirc). God I hated that game in the end

I might pick up Dragon Quest if I ever manage to beat KH first, can't have too many RPGs just lying around...

Replaying Gears of War. It's funny, I can see the obvious qualities, but me and this game simply don't click. Soooooooooooooo pretty, but the gameplay, I dunno. I think Killzone for the psp does this type of gameplay much better.
