More awesomness, Binding of Issack: Afterbirth. HARD, not hard but fair, it's just hard. Really addicring though, and it's hard to not obsess about how clean it looks and how smooth it plays, truly lovely simple graphics and amazing (rather disturbing) art. Love it, wiwh there was an easy mode though, death is permanent and you die a lot.

I picked up Soma for $8 on sale last week on GOG.... and wow!

With a couple kids and a busy job, I have little time for gaming right now... but I'm making time for this. This is an excellent mind- horror game. It's made by Frictional Games- the people who made Amnesia. To me, it's how a game like Bioshock should have been (I thought Bioshock was crap- this isn't) and others have compared it favorably to System Shock 2, a game which I, shamefully, haven't played so I can't comment much on the comparison.

I'll put the trailer here, which gives a good sense of how creepy it is without spoiling any of the philosophical/psychological elements of the game. If you look anything up about the game, please stay well clear of spoilers- there are some good plot elements that you really don't want ruined.

Didn't like Bioshock either, SOMA is great, perfect example how good sound-design does half the job. Ironically it's freaker on easy, you get a good look at the monsters as they will close in on you but won't attack you

Krai Mira, a game overwhelmed by horrendous design flaws (like re-entering town areas, or robbing your companions, for unlimited loot and money), has one in particular that could have been game-breaking, but thankfully is only cringeworthy.

In one early quest, you can side with a character from Town A, or character from Town B. If you side with the latter, then return to the former, he will attack you immediately. If you lose this fight: game over, of course. If you win this fight: game over. You receive the message that this is a "key character" who cannot die.

Yet he attacks you if you talk to him, and combat is always a fight to the death.

So how do you get around this? You can continue to frequent the character's club, just don't talk to him.

Rainbow 6 Siege. I am terrible at it, but its weirdly addicting seeing the creative ways I can get blown up and shot unexpectedly. Like in my last match I got blown up when a guy put a shaped charge on the floor of the ceiling above me.

Rainbow-Six games tend to attract rather hardcore crowds, I'm kinda interested in Siege, my old clan is there

Well Siege doesnt seem so hardcore, the gameplay is intense but its good stuff. Slowly starting to get better at the game but Im still pretty terrible.

You will have plenty of time to get better, Ubisoft to support it for a very long time with updates and improvements. I could never really get along with the series after Rogue Spear but played that to death(of others). Really good times, especially because the community in general was downright chivalrous, miss the chatting between rounds, sometimes a match was over in 10 seconds and it took 30 minutes before starting a new one

Playing Outlast, always wanted to but my laptop is ancient, it's pretty damn scary. It looks fantastic on the Switch. I'm not sure if I like the gameplay, you are defensless and sneaking isn't all that captivating. The atmosphere makes up for it, it gots tons of it. I need to get a new girlfriend to sit on my lap when playing this, I get scared very easily and need comorting hugs and kisses

EDIT Darkness screw you I wish I could just dismiss your existance

This game is really scary at times. jumscares is cheap but it's scary because you know they are comming, this not Silent Hill that slowly creeps up on you, the game assaults you

EDIT, watched some video's comparing it to the ps4, it's the same game. Really impressive as the visuals are so good

    Poly Bridge

Just a very chill bridge-building game. Perfect for when you just want to sit back and relax with a low pressure game.

Done, Outlast is great but kinda meh. It's a really great port, it looks really good, but the stealth just isn't very good, atmosphere only, itt's basicly a walking simulator mostly. I don\t like it as much as others do, not sure if if I am going to play the second as I heard it's much cheaper when it comes to stealth. Outlast looks and sounds fantastic though, it's truly horrifying

Hmmm, well Skyrim is a very good port, it runs perfectly on the Switch. They did a really good job of making an incredibly boring game run good. A decount on sprouts is more exciting than this

octooath Traveler, now we are talking, might just replace BoTW as my favourite Switch game. You are forgiven if you get tired of pixel-art games I know I am, but there is actually a lot going on here, the effects are subtle but make the game really goodlooking, the game is actually running on Unreal 4 tech, the pixels aren't really pixels. Gameplay is a whole lot of fun, typical jrpg-turnbased combat with a few twists, love it or just don't bother as it isn't going to change your mind.

    Opus Magnum.
It's a cool little puzzle/programming game where you play an alchemist in a fantasy world, employed by one of the great houses to manufacture substances by creating machines like this:

Name:	Opus Magnum - Precision Machine Oil (90G, 77, 17, 2018-12-22-21-43-13).gif

The first version of that machine had 128 cycles and a higher cost/area. I was able to tune the design down to what it is there over a few iterations. If you enjoy that sort of thing, you'll enjoy this game.

Gifted to me by my friends - Insurgency Sandstorm. Absolutely stellar FPS, I love it to bits, the gameplay core wise is superb and the overall feel of it is very authentic.

    hello edyz ....
Im curious about some of the ancient mods made for this game !
Do they form phalanxes & formations & fight like they actually did ?
Or is it all loose & skirmish type fighting ?
    cheers

    Hi Dimitrios,

Sorry, I didn't see your message until now.

Are you referring to Gloria Victis or Mount & Blade? Because GV is still in Early Access but M&B has a significant roster of great mods that you can test out!

If you like WW2 RTS and haven't played Steel Division: Normandy 44 yet, you may want to have a look.
SD2 covers the Eastern Front and is currently having beta phases before release next month or thereabouts.
I'm personally busy enough with WarThunder, Tropico 6 and a number of games I haven't finished or touched.
SD2 and Anno 1800 will probably need to be bought though.

First time into a WW2 RTS for me - although, to be fair, HoI is also an RTS but it's a Grand Strategy game.

I liked CoH 1 a bit more than 2. Somehow part two has a lot of weirdness with lootboxes and somehow the unit dynamics aren't to my taste anymore. I also dislike the point capturing system a bit because it can be like whackamole, where you constantly run around.
Steel Division has this frontline system where the focus is less on keeping specified points. Steel Division 2 has some mix of frontline system with strategic points, but I can't say how good or bad that is yet.
Tried the Anno 1800 open beta tonight and liked it quite a bit so far (well, played ~1.5 hours, including finding settings that work). I haven't really played an Anno since 1404.
