Stalker: Call of Pripyat
Seems really smooth and nice of a Stalker experience so far.
I only just found out that it doesn't like me to alt-tab out, well, it does, it just won't come back up again...

Will do, but it's already on budget and the single player is well worth the full price anyway. Crysis 2 is pretty much what Half-Life 2 should have been
Forgot praising the soundtrack, perfect harmony between being an absolute badass and the hunted one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npXJLzmDoGY
Not playing much lately due to other things to attend to, but once in a while I play Company of Heroes randomly. It's pretty nice to think strategically and tactically, apply pressure on the opponent, to destroy the enemy.
Is there such thing as a 18th-19th century naval combat sim like Silent Hunter is for subs?
Of course not they didn't have computers back then
Got Portal 2 in the mail, earlier than expected! I know what I'll be doing tomorrow!

Ja Mata, Tosa.
The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
Got Crysis Warhead on Steam for a mere $5, and yet I still feel ripped off.
I've had Crysis since release and it's multiplayer is plagued with problems. I thought Crysis Warhead might be better since it had more support.
Nope, same deal. No servers run punkbuster (because, I'm assuming like Crysis vanilla, stupid bugs yet to be fixed prevent admins from running PB without crashing their servers), so coming across someone who doesnt cheat is more of an occasion than coming across someone who does. Every Power Struggle server runs nothing but boring Mesa day and night. Every server has a bunch of really horrible mods that ruin the game.
And this is after they cancelled Crysis 1.3 mid-development just to get people to buy Warhead. Well its settled now, I'm never buying a Crytek product again. Its a joke. I can only imagine the problems with Crysis 2 multiplayer (aside from the fact that its a passionless Call of Duty ripoff).
Umm....never played Crysis 1 or Warhead, but i can assure you that Crysis 2 is most certainly not a "passionless Call of Duty ripoff". It's actually an amazing game, and while I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with the other games in the series, I encourage you to at least try it before you knock it.

Hvil i fred HoreToreA man who casts no shadow has no soul.
I'm angry that Power Struggle, one of the most ambitious multiplayer modes ever in an FPS game, was scrapped in favor of pint-sized maps with recycled game modes and killstreak rewards.
The demo only has MP, so I hope it's not that Graphic is talking about MP while the others are talking about SP, or is it?
That said, I downloaded the demo but haven't tried it yet...

Its all about data. When I was playing Crysis Wars, which I loved but cant anymore because I have a crappy internet connection, the PS servers were very light on people, while the more traditional game types like deathmatch and stuff were always packed.
So the question arose in Crytek, "Why should we waste effort on a game type that not many people play when we can put those resources to better use that will bring us more money?"
It all comes down to money. It sounds shallow, but its true. Game devs want to make money. The COD franchise is hugely popoular with a formula that is proven to win. Itt would be dumb not to copy it in one form or another.

Looks like it. Haven't played the MP but the story-mode couldn't be more anymore different, it's the exact opposite of COD4 (as far as genre conventions allow). Hope they improve the (bad) AI and include coop next time around

At least the Stalker series and other russian games have something left that you can call a tense atmosphere.
Plus some of the best thunderstorms I've seen in games so far.
Playing Call of Pripyat and some World of Tanks at the moment.
Should actually continue with some Anno but I never pick it up if I don't feel I have the time to play for like 4 hours or more.

I thought it was pretty clear that I was talking about Crysis 2's multiplayer. I said vanilla Crysis and Crysis Warhead's multiplayer have horrible problems, and that makes me worry about Crysis 2 multiplayer having similar problems, on top of having played the demo (which is multiplayer only) and seeing its simply a Call of Duty clone with suit powers, which it absolutely is as a matter of fact.
Please read posts more carefully.
I have no opinion of Crysis 2's singleplayer.

Back to the old Age of Empires haunt....anyone else still give it a whirl once in a while?
TosaInu shall never be forgotten.
Yes, actually. I think I got really far on the Babylon campaign, tried the Japanese campaign and got stuck on the mission where you have like 5 guys to start with.
The funny part about it is that I had played AoE back when I was like 6 or 7. Thought it was way too hard, decided to shelf it. Picked it up now, 9 years later, and thought "pff. this'll be a pushover for me and my superior skills of a 16 year old!".
Boy was i wrong XD

Just keep playing, and your skills will develop. This game is a matter of practice, and I honestly dont know how long it took me to get decent at it. I should play the campaign again...I think it's been about five years since I played the japanese and my memory is dead on the matter. I dont think I was good till I was about 12.
What difficulty did you go for?
TosaInu shall never be forgotten.
I wanna say probably medium

Ah. The harder ones will be brutal if you are not acclimated, but medium is a good trial by fire.

Is this AOE1?
"Photon Men" is your key to success.
