It's the dodgy pronunciation in the earlier Warriors games which bugged me, not the way it sounds in English.

Dead Rising didn't appeal to me because it's a mismatch between what I want to be playing and what it is. Fragony has it in one: it takes hours to kick in. My Frank is level 9 and he's noticably better than he was at level 1; it took me a couple of hours to get him that far, and I can see a couple more hours passing before he gains enough good moves and becomes robust enough for it to be enjoyable.

That's the main reason. There are others. Escort missions with dreadful AI, ugh! It's a spoof of a film and game genre I don't like. I recognise what it is doing and why; it can't get me in the same way as it can those who like survival horror. The zombies themselves aren't terribly fun. I expected something closer to the zombies in Overlord - limbs everywhere and plenty of giggles. I can run right past without much bother, or I can stand and let my low level character plunk away until my weapons all break. The mob respawns before the bodies have faded from draw distance. Whichever I do it's dull.

If I try again another time I'll probably like it more.

For now effortlessly chewing through hundreds of hapless soldiers and watching Lu Bu get battered into oblivion by a huge mob of allied officers is perfect.
