The puzzles are self-explanatory, for the most part - there should be no need to cheat.
Steam's mature these days, and works pretty well, across the board.
I think you'll enjoy it, if you like FPS games at all![]()

I especially like how HL2 is the only game to have a true Closed Captioning system built in. Instead of just subtitles when someone talks, you get subtitles when someone is shooting at you, when an explosion detonates, and everything else. Thumbs up from the deaf community.
No kidding? I didn't know that. Well done indeed.Originally Posted by Kekvit Irae

The game itself is quite something. Pulled me right in within the first few minutes. Played for about an hour. Excellent... everything. The widescreen option worked perfectly and the graphics are pretty sweet. Have it at 1920 x900 (or something like that) and it really looks great. Haven't noticed any FPS slowdowns. Had one lock up at the start of my first game but nothing bad since then.
I've only been hit with one "physics puzzle" so far and the funky thing was I figured it out without knowing it was a puzzle, I was just farting around and then realized that what I had done was something I had to do anyway to get where I was going. That was neat. Lots of interesting you do this - then they do that - then you do this actions and re-actions.
I just got a machine gun a minute ago. Was pistol and crowbar before that. Looking forward to the heavy weapons.I don't think I'll load up any cheats, the game's too much fun so far to mess with it.
I see why HL2 got the reviews it did. It's certainly an above average game.

Wait until you get the Gravity Gun. It's a world of fun. You can grab enemy grenades in midair and shoot them back at them, pick up explosive barrels and hurl them at soldiers, and even have fun by capturing the flying drones.Originally Posted by Beirut
In Ravenholm, you will absolutely love it. I wont spoil anything, but I will say this: circular saw blades + gravity gun = slice n' dice!
Oh, I read about that particular toy, sounds like fun. Looking forward to it!Originally Posted by Kekvit Irae
Also read about Gary's Mod as well and all the demented things you can do with the Gravity Gun. It's a $10 DL but I just might get it. The mods and the gravity gun were two of the big reasons I bought HL2. (Well, that and it was on sale for less than $20.)

You should enjoy Episode One then. Dog's back, and just as amusing.
Yeah, the developers are good. I hope the story is as good this time round, it really felt like playing a movie (as opposed to watching, like Dreamfall).
Oh, and I'm not playing it myself since I don't have CoH, but this looks extremely interesting for anyone playing that game online. Anyone already do so?

I finished Okami last night. Nice game, shame it never came out of tutorial mode. It kept telling me what to do when I already knew.
Now playing Bioshock.

Can you describe Okami to me Lady Frog? I heard it was a great game.Originally Posted by frogbeastegg

I started a topic after playing for a few hours. It's a very good game, absolutely gorgeous in style; one of those games where you find yourself running around being silly just to absorb the locations and listen to the music. The video review doesn't do it justice; the music is missing and they concentrate on the more gloomy locations.Originally Posted by God's Grace

Well, just got Jade Empire spec edition for my brother, but since uni is havin' a break I thought I'd do the right thing and make sure that everything loads up ok. Into the fourth level, everything seems ok, but I feel I need to go all the way![]()

I know what I want to be playing: Mafia 2. Only just saw the announcement, and since I loved part one I'm looking forward to this. As long as they don't make it like that recent Godfather game I'm happy.

It's made by Illusion Softworks again, so we can hope it will come up to the standards of the first part.![]()
Looks very nice so far, I hope it won't take them until 2009 to finish it.
