Haha, not bad, I might try that sometime.

I ended up starting Ninja Gaiden II. Balletic skill-based swordfighting at 60FPS, limbs and blood everywhere and most of it (amazingly) not mine. I like.
Frogbeastegg's Guide to Total War: Shogun II. Please note that the guide is not up-to-date for the latest patch.

    Back to basics:

Mass Effect was the first game I ever got for 360 and its one I keep coming back to. Taking a break from trying to compile a research paper that sounds readable and played a bit again.

I'm reminded with how boring the mission on Eden Prime was. But still, even after all this time when Seran turns to the camera, his jaw rolling as he grinds out the word "Nihlis.." and begins to slither toward your mission back up.. it just gives me chills. Never ceases!

Though I have to express my utter frustration at the voice actor who played Male Shepard. God, could this guy be anymore monotone? I've gotten more entertaining dialogue from lectures about USB ports (and I'm not joking. I really have gotten more entertaining speech from lectures about USB ports.) He speaks with the same sense of urgency about finding the Usari Consort that he does when he discovers there's a thresher maw standing two feet away. I think i've only completed the game with a Male Shepard once. ONCE.

I just played the Dawn of War 2 demo through steam. It's a delightfully meaty demo, well worth a look. I think I'll buy the full one when it's significantly cheaper (or after they release an expansion pack for three).

I've gotten re-hooked back on Mount and Blade, with the Eagle and Radiant Cross mod. Truly amazing work, the mod beautifully integrates musket warfare into the game while still retaining a lot of balance. The huge variety of troops is quite nice. Ironically, however, the Khergits have still retained their power despite getting almost no additions themselves- their pure archery actually makes them even more fun to play with now that muskets litter the fields. Finding the Elephant gun as an easter egg item after defeating a roving band of cossacks was entertaining.
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

I'm a bit of a conservative when it comes to games, I play what's tried and tested and not very diverse. Still playing Day of Defeat:Source, Red Orchestra but also Medieval: Total War.

Lately I added Call of Duty 4 to my chest, pretty good, although it gets boring and repetitive.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

I love singeplayer, and MP is alright but the amount of hackers and sore losers turned me off it. I find America's Army has got the same modern warfare, plus better ideas such as squads, leaders and pre-chosen classes.

Just bought Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts. Great game (Especially love the things the British say) except the SP campaign, for the Germans, seems a constant recycle of defend against great horde of attackers, then advance and fight back. Gets boring, and skirmish is more entertaining.

Also deciding whether to buy Empire: Total War or Dawn of War 2. Any recommendations between the two? Leaning towards ETW because of its time era but DoW2 looks really fun from its descriptions around this thread and forum.

I'll have to give it a go.

Edit: Was playing it for the last 2 hours, pretty fun. Fairly balanced. I agree with the Kergits, bows and arrows are just insane. So deadly.

Just picked up Heart of Winter and Icewind Dale II earlier today, always wanted them since I first played Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate. I always thought Icewind Dale was too short and linear.
