I can answer my first question for myself:
Will Qarthadastim get any new units or other major updates in 0.81, so should I start my Golden Palm AAR now, or after the next patch. When it's done!!!

No new units I know of. They will have building tweaks but not much.

Do you plan, at any time, to include Sicilian (Elymean) and Sardinian troops? Elymeans, in particular, were trustworthy soldiers for Carthaginian armies in Sicilia. I feel their absence in the current Cathaginian campaign: it looks like there is no local in Sicilia fighting alongside Carthage...
I know that we have at least one Sardinian unit planned, and I'd be surprised if Matt didn't have at least on Elymean unit planned.
"It is an error to divide people into the living and the dead: there are people who are dead-alive, and people who are alive_alive. The dead-alive also write, walk, speak, atc. But they make no mistakes; only machines make no mistakes, and they produce only dead things. The alive-alive are constantly in error, in search, in questions, in torment." - Yevgeny Zamyatin
What's the difference between the regular recruitment building and the merc/foreign one for Carthage? Are there only a few places you can build type 1 governments because those were the places where phoenicians lived in enough quantity to matter when carthage called to arms its natural citizens?
We have to work on getting our recruitment split up more for a number of these factions - we haven't really done that. I don't know how carthage's will be handled yet though.
(when I say "split up" I mean - even regular faction troops, if they come from local populace and not the same ethnicity as the faction is itself, probably should come from local MIC's and not the faction ones.)
During my Epeirote campaign I had many good encounters with Carthage. Their infantry is one of the best in the game, I suppose.
The bad knews was that the only cavalry they were producing in Africa (can't say the same about Spain, didn't mentioned) were elephants
Glorious campaign :D
Poetic justice, I abuse the Romans to grab Rhegion's mines and then they attack me.
Beautifully different feel to my previous (0.8) Dacian campaign and (0.74) Armenian campaign and (0.72) Gallic campaign. It's wonderful deciding that
"Well, Xanthippos would want more men and particularly non-Carthaginian troops for his defence against the Romans, but that swine Hamalcar would immediately use his superior influence and the fact that Xanthippos is a Greek to counter his motion and instead use the support of the anti-Barcids to fund his own campaign in Africa so that he can curtail the rising influence of Bomilkar ha'Hamor. Since one of ha'Hamor's sons is trapped and under siege, he doesn't have enough votes or influence to block this motion, particularly as Gisgo is no longer under threat from the Numidians and sees that a campaign in Africa would better suit him than the dangerous backing of the Spartan with his funny accent...
So... I'll assemble a force to take the African coast instead of Southern Italy. But what would it be composed of, mercenaries and European soldiers would want to be limited according to the significant anti-Barcid influence, cavalry and slingers would need to be mustered to ward off the Numidians..."
