    Default noob help

I have seen many references to watchtowers (lift fow on coastal and province areas) and the merchant fort trick. How do I build these things? I cannot seem to find them. My general only has body guard and crusader buttons, at least that I can see. My towns do not have the buildings.
Any help would be really appreciated.

To build a watchtower, just make sure you are controlling a family member at the time and the button at the bottom right should become active while you are on the campaign map. Just hit the button man.

Edit: your General needs to be where you want to build the tower/fort, ie. outside of town.

Not sure if this is a bug, but for me to build a fort on a resource, I need a merchant in the army.

hello world, yea just search for the button of the bottom right hand corner that has either a watchtower or a fort picture on it, i cant remember. For ergothead, you should be able to build forts on resources without merchants, but there are some restrictions on where you can build forts so that might be the reason why you cant build any

@helloWorld: you also have to have enough money to build either one. As I can remember a watchtower costs 200 and fort costs 500. (correct me if I'm wrong.)
also the terrain has to be suitable for those building, e.g. you can't build a watchtower on bridge.
another hint: you know how to recruit mercs? building towers and forts works just the same way. it's the button right next to it.
