Thread: a few questions..

    Default a few questions..

    1. playing as romans i attacked a carthagenian city using a ram. my ram was burnt down and i lost the battle as i had no other way to storm the city with. after the defeat my army (it was led by a captain) just vanished even though i didnt lose any soldiers. how come?

    2. which data file should i edit if i want to lower the price of assassins from 5000 to 500?

    3. which data file should i edit to lower the watchtower price from 2000 to 200?

    4. would it take alot of file editting to enable generals to be hired?

    5. where can i get a list of requirements needed to enact all the reforms?

    1. When you attack or are attacked in a territory not bordering your own or an ally's, or you dont have a nearby fleet wherein you can retreat incase of a loss, your entire army will disband as they have nowhere to go. When you go into a battle there is sometimes a little symbol near the number of men per army which says that army will be destroyed if it loses.

    This is always the case for you, but I have seen the AI retreat across several regions to get back to their territory.

    Oh, and stupidly enough if you get engaged deep in enemy territory and choose to retreat before battle, you lose the whole army, even though they would normally step back two spaces.

    For 2 and 3, I think you change that in descr_character.

    For 4, the answer is no, you can just add the needed line to the EDU of whatever units you want.

    3. is in descr_cultures.txt now, I think the recruitment costs for assasins too.
