Well, you better start getting ready since it looks like the game is gonna be you vs mongols and if you have to capture constantinople or jerusalem for victory conditions, be ready for a lot of fighting

"I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." - Issac Newton

Good job yezhanquan85 with your expansion, Milian is always bother when I play as the Papacy, I seem to be able to capture all of Italy or most of it and maybe a piece of the Holy lands but I can never seem to really expand outside Italy, maybe I should play more aggressive.![]()
Well, getting your hands on all of Italy is a great way to start taking on the world. By virtue of being the Pope's right hand general, you have Rome, whch is part of the Italian city ports cartel. If you get rid of Venice and Sicily and convert their castles into ports, your florins WILL roll in.Originally Posted by Mailman653
Hmmm playing as the Pope would be weird... can you get excommunicated =/? Are the factions you attack automatically excommunicated? Can you ask yourself for a crusade, and if so, can it be denied?
No you cant get excommunicated, factions you attack are automatically excommunicated and no you cant ask for crusades. Well I wasnt able to ever call on a crusade the game always told me I didnt have enough favour with the pope, which is wierd cos if you go to the pope screen the papal states arent even on there, so you dont know how many crosses you have. But I think its meant to be that way. Also another bonus is you get to use inquisitorsOriginally Posted by IvarrWolfsong
You can call crusades as the Papacy. Good relations and a co-incidence of interests with the Catholic faction which provided the Pope will allow crusades. It works largely the same way as with a standard Catholic faction seeking a crusade. The Papacy were not meant to be played, therefore no Papacy in the favour rankings is to be expected.
