Thread: Questions about the games rebelion mechanics and trait picking up.

Default Questions about the games rebelion mechanics and trait picking up.

    Im playing as Baktria

Anyway The seleucids besieged my capitol (baktria) so in response I destroyed them then took the town to the west of baktria.

I then massacred the population, destroyed all the buildings, let it rebel, went in and repeated, so the population was 410 men and no buildings other than the undestoyable ones.

So I went off and put the tax on maximum, as I thought I cant garrison it (as the army I used to take it is going round pillaging seleucid towns) so i'll milk it dry then let it rebel, with only 400 people and no military infrastructure it cant become a threat.

So the next time it rebeled it had 6 8 experience silver equiptment horse archers and 5 native spearmen of the same calibre.

How could it do that with so few people and no military buildings?

Is the rebel unit roster random or something?

And is there any console commands I can use to kill a large part of this army (as its unrealistic and will if the ai decides to, destroy my faction without me having any chance against it)

One of my generals has become horrifyingly corrupt, how do i avoid this in future, I was doing what the original games mechanics treat as the best way to avoid bad traits (campaigning with him) but that doesnt seem to work in EB.

When cities rebel, they draw from a set list of units set up for a rebellion (I believe). This isn't altered by the population level of the town. I don't think there is anything that can be done to make it match the pop level. One of those text files has the set rebel force for each province.

About your general - thats' difficult. He may have just been headed towards being corrupt his whole life. He also may have been the type of guy that was in a bad situation - can you post a pic of his traits? You can get a better response if you did that i think. It varies for each person. Guys who are vigorous don't need to sit around a lot - guys who are certain ethnicities don't need to try to govern certain cities - guys who are bloodthirsty and active need to be in the field at almost all times - guys who are great managers don't. It is very complex.

Oh Right id read that in vanilla that rebelion troop rosters depended on town population and inplace recruitment buildings so assumed that it was true as id read nothing to the contrary.

I wont post pics as he has quite a few traits (about 4 screenshots worth IIRC)

    I'll list them instead.

    Mature,
    Hellen,
    Trader,
    Agitator,
    Sharp, Charismatic, Vigourous,
    Selfish, Optomistic, Disloyal,

(Although I remember him being loyal when I first got him but I may be remembering wrong. either way when I noticed disloyal i took him on campaign to try to avoid him getting negative traits)

    Veteran,
    Likes Strangers,
    Authades,
    Treacherous, (:()
Abstanious, (Is that a word lol
    Understanding of mathematics,
    Buerocrat,
    Connosier,

    Wealthy,
    Chernon,
    Confident troops.

Well that's why. He's disloyal and selfish, so he has much higher chances of being courrupt or a traitor.

Both really, lol. Bactria is part of the Eastern Greek culture with the seleucids and ptolemaics.
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.

Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'

That general sounds like a pretty good one actually. I would just keep a diplomat with him always, and maybe a spy too, to lessen the chance he is bribed - but keep him in the field, fighting people.

It doesnt really matter now lol that horror army I mentioned sweeped down on my capitol and the town north north west of it and took them both almost losslessly.

What I thought were native spearmen had actually been persian archer spearmen :/

And my other 2 towns are about to be taken by another 2 full seleukid stacks so I'll restart

    :)

On a new note, is there any sources describing how the steppe nomad faction works as they have me generally puzzled. Being so different from the usual factions.
