    Default Authority Bug?

It's the mid-1400s in my current game as the Spanish and in the hopes of unlocking the Turkish faction, I convinced the Pope to call a crusade to their last province, Trebizond. After my crusading army arrived in the province and killed the faction heir I noticed something wierd about the king:

At first I was astonished that he had near maxed-out authority (I've rarely had a king with more than like 5). When I assualted the settlement I thought I would look at the king's stats to see what made him just such a great king. Rather than having traits that would boost his authority he had quite the opposite. He was loaded with traits with negative authority (i.e. insanity and a handful of others). I went ahead and counted up all the authority points to find that he had -9 in total (including positive points) yet it showed up as +9 in the game.

This seems suspicious at best and while I haven't had any such problem when I'm playing, it still makes me scratch my head when I see it happen to a computer.

Looks like some sort of wrap around error...

What does it say when you put the mouse-pointer over his autority? Positive or negative?

It was positive. I wish I had taken the time to take pictures but he had so many traits that I felt it would've taken too long..

Ran into the same bug, although mine is a potentially more irritating circumstance; I actually captured the insane character who is now king when he was just the heir, and let him go because I figured he'd do more damage alive than dead (he had, at the time, one characteristic: 2 or 3 loyalty). So when he became king, I was rather startled at his insane authority score.

I'll post the screenshots in the next post, as apparently you're not allowed to post links in your first post.

    Here's the screenshots:
    Authority description
    Insane characteristics one and two
Positive authority characteristics one, two and three (meaning he should have a -2 authority score)

    Very interesting.

It might be a manifestation of the antitrait bug.

Here is my own insane faction leader. Same thing. Also noticed an enemy AI faction leader who was also insane (thanks to my assassins), and he was maxed out too.
