    Default D3Dx9_30.dll error

    when i try to play medieval 2 total war a message comes up sayin ''This application has failed to start because D3Dx9_30.dll was not found'' does anyone know wat this means ?

    Kingtotalwar,

    I've got no idea what the actual file is or what it does, but if it is missing than the install might not have worked, try re-installing and see if it still happens.

    I don't know for sure, but it sounds like you don't have the correct version of directX.

    Just install the most recent version of Direct-X from www.miscrosoft.com and that should fix it.
    It will be named DX9.0c but it may still contain newer files since not every new version gets a new name.

    Just run the file - it's an executable.
