    Default Defragmenting in XP

I have been defragmenting my hard disk drive but the XP defragmenter doesn’t seem to be doing very much, a friend told me to keep at it until it seems ok but that is going to take ages. There are a lot of fragmented files I would give a link to a pic of what it looks like but imageshack doesn’t want to load at the moment.

Try getting executive diskeeper which is a really good defragmenter

If your drive is severely fragmented, it can take hours. Also, you need a certain amount of free disk space (15%) to defrag properly.

I highly reccomend O&O defrag - it offers options like defragging files by name (for quicker boots), date, modified etc. and will do it all faster than the xp defragger.
