Another pearl to help you out... here it is, 5 Crosses and 15 2v peasants.

yu should probably give em a wepon upgrade that would help out.

how do you do it? make a wagon lager?

valors important too but with a wepon upgrade peasants are some serious contenders if you can keep em in the fight. i dont use as much as i did back in december when i got on the lobby.

how would you combat missiles though.

Peasants hold with the crosses help. Missiles/cav charges would be my counter.

Yeah, the cross would give a combined +15 Morale. I'd give them weapons and armour instead of Valour though, at 18 Morale they allready have enough from the crosses.

Expensive though as the crosses are nearly 3000 total.

do you think they could soak up all the opponents missiles and still be able to win? just curious you must tell us rest. i bet they would make a good anti elelphant force. with high morale and all.

This would work well in a 2v2 with england protecting them with there stakes all around. You guys shud hurry up and start using these armies... it's the future of TW!!!!!!

wow....with exciting and pwtnage strats such as these, i see why silent are 1 of the best clans in MTW2.
for the record people, iv'e done several tests with the england/cross army combinations, vs armies with HA, cav-based armies, balanced ones, and various others. all but one were victories for the stake/cross army! try this tactic! you'll never lose!

Let me guess the one that was not a victory was against the Scots and some other decent faction. Not even the mighty cross army can overcome unarmoured men holding cheap,long, pointy wooden sticks and uber border cavalry.

i believe that if you use your peasants to trap their cavalry, you may be able to use the great cross/ standard to boost the morale of flanking peasants, rendering cavalry usless against this type of army. You might want to try fanatics as support to fend off infantry units too. they are very effective with great cross support. plus when in doubt, you can use the great cross unit itself to rush the enemy archers during the archer battle, and they will get there and destroy the archers while still giving morale boost to the rest of your army.
