Default The many woes of Wakizashi

On Wednesday evening as I was sitting in front of the Computer reading the .org, I was struck with a severe pain in my lower abdominal muscles. I hadn't been feeling very good all that day, but that pain was the most agonizing I had ever felt; Ms. Waki had to drive me to the Hospital, we're I was given a good dosage of Morphine and I had to wait in the ER for 4 hours while they did blood tests and such. After awhile the Doctor thought it was my appendix, but he wasn't sure, the MRI showed that my Appendix was fine, my blood test showed a major elevation in my white blood cell count. I would have to stay the night while the Doc observed me to see if it could be something else.
By yesterday morning I was still in pain, in the same place. The Doctor decided to have a look around in that region, to see if it could be something else, but he was also going to perform the appendectomy anyways. So I was taken to the OR, where they knocked me out, which is the first time I had ever had that happened. It was almost like a dream, I remember them transfering me to the OR and then they put the oxygen mask on me, and put stuff in my IV that made me completely unconscious. Two hours later (although it seemed like an instantaneous amount of time to me) I was laying back in my room. I Felt Great! I played my Nintendo DS for awhile, until I was finally discharged at about 7:00 last night. Last night was rough though, even after I had gotten some pain medication. I'm just very weak and sore in my abdominal muscles. But at least I'm okay.

You still have all your limbs right?

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

What they had concluded was that I had a viral infection of the Appendix and not a Bacterial Infection. The Viral Infections tend to be much more sudden and excruciating, but it won't burst, more like ooze out after awhile. Thankfully they caught it prematurely so I'm okay, and I have all of my limbs.

Could you be going into labour with the twins?
Really though, good to see you back. Apendicitis is bad, and it is one of the most painful things that can occur naturally. Is it true that the U.S. National guard is taught how to remove their Apendix with a spoon?

Don't know about removing appendixes with spoons, but my wife thought she was dying when that happened to her. Excruciating is apparently a mild word -- she said childbirth was easier to handle.

Glad to hear you're well Wazikashi.

Fortunately they didn't have to do the surgery where they basically cut your abdominal muscles open. They did the one where they make three small holes and inflate your stomach region with air. One hole for the camera, one hole to cut out the appendix and one hole to remove it. It heals much quicker, and I should be good to go back to College on Monday.

Although they did some other rooting around in my chest to make sure I didn't have any heart damage, when I went into the hospital my heart rate was at 148 beats per minute, about 20 more beats per minute than when a woman goes into labour. So now I'm kickin' back, trying to get a few zzz's, watching TV and playing on the labtop.

That's amazing, 3 tiny holes. I still have a 3-inch scar from my 1960 appendectomy. Glad you're OK Wakizashi; I couldn't walk totally upright for about 2 weeks.

Glad to hear you came out of it okay. I remember going under for my wisdom teeth. Afterwards I could see the appeal of illegal drugs.
