Slaves as a resource

Wondered about this for a long time, but always forgot to ask: are slaves removed as a trade resource in EB? And if so: why?

They are in, but as refugees not slaves.

Nope. Slaves are in EB as a trade resource. Slaves are now a permanent resource though, while the temporary one that was in RTW has been change to refugees.
