Even storms and stuff arent guaranteed to happen as/when they did historically. Weather is so complex that over a 200 year period its totally not predictable (so any historic storms are likely not to happen as they did in the alternate EB history you create). Plagues are even more unpredictable, as they depend largely on people. Even things like volcanoes and earthquakes might not have happened exactly the same in a parallel timeline, though obviously they are less random than the weather, as those sorts of mechanical stresses build up over very long periods of time.Originally Posted by king hannibal
In my opinion the random occurence of such natural events is the way to go, as that is pretty much how they would occur. Though plagues should have some triggers (like sieges, vastly overcrowded cities or the arrival of characters from far away (probably hard to script, but that would be cool).
Edit: I would hate to see characters being scripted to appear at the 'right' time. That sort of defeats for me the whole idea of creating history.
