    Default Historical Battle...Liegnitz

    Just uploaded Battle_of_Liegnitz.
The battle is a 3v3 format and contains a readme with relevant information. It plays very nicely and provides quite a challenge. Your AI allies give a good account of themselves and will work with you, making the battle far more interesting than previous AI's that would 'do their own thing'

You can find the battle here :

    Any feedback would be appreciated

I hope this doesn't appear dark, the original was fine. Anway I think it will still give a good impression of the battlefield. In this shot I am right flank and you can see the AI Polish armies deploying in a good area, cresting a small ridge. There is a fair march to that point from the deployment zones which are at the rear of the map. Sometimes, unfortunately they still send archers and crossbows way too far but in this shot they are positioned nicely, just in front of the infantry line.
This was the start of an epic struggle in that area of the map. After what seemed like ages our battered lines repulsed the repeated attacks, the Mongols pulled back and both sides regrouped and considered the next stage. There followed a bit of a staring match as we advanced to the bottom of the slope which led to the Mongol position. I had all my units but very depleted. A glance to the left showed that my allies had only a few units of battered spears and up ahead was the Mongol General, two Khan's Guard and two heavy cav. I advanced slightly and drew them from their position. My depleted ranks held their charge ( I added exp 1 and armour 1 to spears and exp 1 to other inf )
My archers held up a HA charge to my right and my General stopped a flank to the left. My allies battered spears arrived just in time, I was down to my General and 1 spearman when the Mongols broke and fled the field.
We were victorious but 'only by a swords edge'

*sigh* How I wish I could go home. Blast this legislative session, and no PC.

The curse of real life eh Doug? No worries, it will still be here when you return.
It was my intention that this battle would be great fun on LAN or MP connections but assigning a faction slot to the AI no longer exists as it did in RTW such a shame. It is still possible to use as a 3v3 on MP or LAN but there must be 6 players.
The AI does perform quite well though so it is still good fun for SP. I've made Historicals before but the AI did the most ridiculous things, its behaviour has certainly been improved.
I am sure you are going to enjoy this and I would value your opinion.

    BTW....Congrats on your HoF award

    Congrats
    Thanks, Orda Khan.

All the time I could have spent playing the game has gone into starting another tactics guide: Using missile and melee cavalry together.

Might as well put obsession to some use.
