    Default 3dMax Problem

This is what my model looks like when I press my middle mouse button to rotate the view point. I have no idea why its suddenly doing this. Does anyone here know what the heck I need to do to get it to show the proper model?

I have a feeling that it rotates in wireframe because it's far too cpu intensive to re-render each viewpoint.

It's been quite some time since I have played with 3dsmax but I know I can rotate mine without it turning to wire frame. If I remember correctly you can render using directx instead of software rendering. I don't remember how or where to do this, but I know you can. See if that helps.
