V.8 problems starting

Hi guys really like the mod here it is very impressive I was getting very tired of the non historical stuff in the standard game. Having had a brief look through, the standard seems to be very high. Well done.
However I have down loaded EB .8 the other day since we finally got broadband here after waiting six years. There have been a couple of problems.
1. After starting the game as soon as you go to a campaign or battle once selected the game crashes when it tries to load, this has happened a dozen times so far.
I have reinstalled the game a few times but so far it makes no difference. (also did the repair installation bit but still no difference)

2. I have loaded it on a separate RTW gold edition which includes the BI. Ok I have the older RTW could this be a better base with the patches?

Ok any ideas or help would be excellent

Have you patched it to 1.5/1.6. Having or not havin BI won't effect EB. Though some editions of RTW Gold come patched to 1.4 and you'll need to install patch 1.6 before you can install EB.

If you have 1.5/1.6 then this is another weird thing that is hard to diognose from afar.

I'm getting the same problem. This is EB on the SEGA version of RTW (1.5.0). I can play custom battles to my hearts content, but when I try to start an imperial campaign, it lets me select my faction and game options, goes to a loading screen, then the game suddenly quits to desktop after it has finished loading.

Sounds like a corrupt download. I would suggest downloading the file again and retrying.

I'm having this same problem, although I am not using gold edition, except that when I start an Imperial Campaign the minute I hit the arrow the game closes, no messages, just closes. Just to make sure, when you install BI I had thought that it patched to RTW to 1.6. I may be wrong and that is why I am having problems. I was having this same problem when I was attempting to try Rome Total Realism (Yours looks better and more historically accurate). It would crash at the exact same area. Because of this I doubt that it was a bad download, but I will try again if need be. Thanks for the help.

Some versions of BI are 1.3. If that is the case, you must get the 1.6 Patch for BI. Else it will not run.

If you have problems starting EB 0.81 after installation please try this:

go to RTW/EB/data/world/maps/base folder and delete map.rwm

then try again, and please tell us if it works or not
