In my current Scots campaign, its 1534 AD. In the faction scroll its told me there are 0 turns remaining for a couple of turns now. Is this a bug? I was really looking forward to seeing the victory video, as I was the leading faction.

At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
Unless you change it manually or with medmanager, yes.
"A magyarok nyilaitól - ments meg Uram minket!" (középkori ima)
"Lord save us from the bows of the Hungarians!"
(medieval prayer)
Official Self-Proclaimed Junior Vice President and founder of the almost existing unofficial Knights of Santiago Fan Club
Could I have done either of those things by mistake? I want my victory video,![]()

You need to meet the victory requirements for the victory video. If you reach the end of the campaign without meeting the requirements, you basically lost
"I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." - Issac Newton
I have a small question related to the end of a Campaign. I have no hopes of completing my objectives in the time left, and I'm wondering, can I still unlock nations after the campaign has ended?
I support Israel
It is right, when you fail the objective in time, you unly unlock those nations whome you have destroyed![]()
No, my question was can I STILL unlock them BY DESTROYING them after its ended? Sorry I know it was badly worded.
I support Israel
You where perfectly clear actually, so don't worry about that.
Sadly i don't know as i cheated.
Any ideas how I could fix this?![]()

you will see lots of script variables with associated values next to each
one of the variables is "end_date"
set the value for this to "1530 winter" if its set to something else

That won't work if you've allready started a campaign, and his question wasn't anything to do with that anyway.
He's got no way of completing the Long campaign objectives before 1530, and therefore want's to know if eliminating a faction after the end date will make it avalibile to play in future campaigns. I don't honestly know the anwser, does anyone else?

descr_win_conditions
or may be its empty
or check condition of your faction in that file

I was actually talking about this post.
Sorry if i was snappy, but whilst you may not (i don't know) be a native english speaker, their are plenty on the board who should have no issues understanding what he's asking and eithier saying they don't know or giving the anwser. Instead theirs just been a lot of people who have tottally failed to understand what he was talking about. Sorry for being a bit snappy, I know not everyones a native english speaker and we got confused about which post we where talking about.
The poster you where trying to anwser has allready been anwsered BTW, as i understand it you get the victory video as soon as you meet the objectives, if you don't meet them by 1530 then you can play on but you've faled in effect.

I don't want to interfere in this but Paul of Bysantine you are harder to read than Carl just before you start claiming to be better than him at English.

I was in the same boat myself. The first campaign I played was the Spanish grand campaign Vh/Vh and it became evident I wasn't going to win in time. Since I wanted to unlock all the factions, I started a Spanish short campaign. The conditions of the short campaign are much easier to accomplish and still counts toward unlocking all factions.Originally Posted by diablodelmar

This has nothing to do with the language, you have a game which has an AI engine and it reads from the facts that are stored in script files to decide on what action to take according to what fact. Unless the game has bugs, you have to look at the facts themselves, even if you already have started a campaign, for the sake of new campaigns

Not really, but some none native English speakers, (not all mind), sometimes have a Little trouble, and I can understand therefore why thy might not have replied.native English speaker, so non-native English speakers have issues?
you sound racist buddy
If I hadn't specifically said that I'm sure someone would have pulled me up by saying that not everyone on this board speaks English natively and I can't expect them to always understand as well as I do.
I've got Dyslexia, satisfied.you cant even spell an English word, look above, you spelled either as either

@Kraggenmor: Thanks for getting this back on topic, I've never played any campaign for more than about 80 turns before getting bored, 60 is more normal, thus I'm clueless...
I tried to resist pushing this thread further off track, and I apologise in advance because I am about to do just that. I cannot, in good conscience allow this to pass uncommented.

Setting aside that Carl is a respected and vital member of this .org community;
You assail someone's English speaking skills by pointing out minor typo/mis-spellings and then go on to boast about your own "skills" in a post that contains:
Allright Mr. Fluent English, lets review.I speak fluent english, because i been living in an english speaking country for a long time.
A.) The word 'English' as it refers to the nation or the language is captialized in proper use. Just as Spanish, French, Italian, et al. would be.
B.) Your first four words formed a sentence and should have ended with period. The comma and 'because' are unnecessary.
C.) the second 'i' should have been capitalized and you completely left out any verb like 'have' or 'had'.
I won't even bother going into the obvious and pathetic irony of your throwing accusations of 'racist' around after being the first to make comments of a racist variety in this thread. But, to follow up an olive branch offered by the person who was wronged - by YOU - in the first place with veiled aspersions of 'sheep shaggy' is simply boorish, obnoxious, unwarranted and, if I may speak for all, undesired here.

D. ) "english speaking country" actually should be "English-speaking country." You're using a complex construction to turn a noun-verb combination into an adjective that describes the country, therefore the two words must be joined using a hyphen.
It's also worth pointing out that his sentence construction is not as bad as Kraggenmor suggests. "I speak fluent English because I have been living in an English-speaking country for a long time" would in fact be a correctly constructed sentence. While you could choose to make the first four words their own sentence as Kraggenmor suggested in B, you are certainly not obligated to do so. It is only the combination of 'because' and the comma that make this particular sentence construction grammatically incorrect.
Also, since Kraggenmor felt the need to call Paul out on spelling and usage, I can't let his mistakes go unnoticed. 'Allright' does not exist in the English language. You can use "all right" or 'alright,' but 'allright' is all wrong. You also said "lets review" which is incorrect. As you intended it, 'lets' should be the contraction "let's" which is short for "let us." 'Lets' without an apostrophe can only be a verb.
Anyway, I digress. The point isn't that this person or that person made spelling mistake X or grammatical mistake Y. The point is that everyone is making them all the time, and there's really no point making such a fuss about it. I could probably cite at least one error in every single post in this thread, including this one. I've been careful to consider what I'm doing, but even so I'm sure something has gone unnoticed even in this post. I say less bickering, and more useful discussion.
