Short background (will be more lyric later huh but so you have an idea):

For centuries the Empire has been the most powerfull civilisation of the known world. From their archipel continent, they conquered colonies all over the shores. Mostly a commercial empire, they now have sold their souls to some Dark One be even more powerfull, to last forever and to have unknow technology to settle their supremacy: what is called gunpowder.

They never thought it would cost them that much.
With the months and years passing, a strange curse has hit them, turning them into what they wanted to be: forever living.
This is an epic fantasy mod project I'll be working on as I can. Right now I'm all alone working on it, but I hope people might be interested in joining the adventure in the (near) future.

World design is already done at 95%, so are most faction description, maps and flags, colors etc... at concept level....Now everything has to be put into the game.

There will be like 10 factions:

- The Empire (undead nation)
- Three Nordic/Celtic-like nations
- Three Elven nations
- Three human/Medieval-like nations

What can I do myself? Well I'm mostly a skinner, 2d artist, 3d static props artist and music composer.

Here are some screenshots of armies I already retextured, still have to make a faction of it, since these are the english vs the spanish right now.

I don't mean really (and right now) to set up a whole modding team for this. We'll see as things go on. But I will accept all help from all people who are interested by this and, of course, all due credits will be given at every level of implication. And perhaps the team will set itself up... ?

So if you have a little time and motivation to work on this epic adventure, and if you are scripter, skinner, mapper, modeler, whatever, you're welcome to post here or PM me!

I'd like to see some more detail on the factions though, only because your using "typical fantasy" races and id like to see how you aim to make these different in your own way.

Hey, well I'm working on explaining this, explaining all factions etc.... but right now I have this big problem: how to make a map from scratch, I tried some things, but nothing works so I started a topic here.

If you have an idea, be my hero!

That's done in the battle map editor. Untill we can import props and stuff

Aye I've seen and read your post, but I can't but but every 765.... seconds, so sometimes I forget lol but looks you have a great mod, and map, in the making !

Don't hesitate to go for it. Making a whole new map is a really annoying and painful process, but when you got it... you're happy, believe me ...and then the seious problems start ...

Yeah sure I intend to release factions and more info as they get developed... and more... We're only two on this mod, so considering that, it goes pretty well!

Almost released some newscreenshots yesterday.... but I had a lot of step backs because I'm a noob heheh ... but right now everything is going well... messed up the UI, maps and other videos...

Sounds like your doin well Rik, I hope your progress doesn't find too many setbacks because for a small team it can be gutting, I remember this from way back when on MTW projects.

Has alot of promise, good to see your determined to keep going.

the world of fantasy doesnt revolve aro8und warcraft, and you know what? The Warcraft series is a complete copy of Lord of the Rings

EVERYTHING has copied SOMETHING that came before it, even Tolkien copied myth from history and simply changed it to fit Middle-Earth, so accusing things of being clones is a little non-sensical.

I myself am crafting my own world of fantasy, it is influenced by what I like as a person.

Please try not to accuse people of making "cheap copies" of other works, this project thus far is looking very promising and a work within its own right.

Well, Sardukar, I'm sure that you would agree that a lack of knowledge of the Warcraft series didn't preclude you from developing your own ideas. The use of the name "Tides of Darkness" is an unfortunate coincidence, but little more than that.

Now, can we please leave that pedantic topic and hear more about this original mod than the name?
