Default Best mod at the moment?

I want to resuscitate my interest in Med2. It seems CA won't make it happen by a. patching it and b. releasing anything that might resemble an SDK. I sure would like to make some truely new content. Nevertheless there are still a few mods here and there. I need an opinion on what the currently most used mod is. I'm not looking for anything in particular, just something to get me to play Med2 again.

Major mods are not going to happen without a tool to allow changes to both battlefield unit models and the animations. This we don't have.

We also still have the annoying siege bug where the battle grinds to a halt as everyone tries to get up one ladder/siege tower....

So far...the only mod I have bothered with is the usual 'unlock all the factions' mod. Nothing else really seems to do more than alter some stats.

This is the same for me. In my opinion at the moment the only useful and best mod would be the one which unlocks all factions… Fun fun fun!

You guys are kidding right? There are some mods out there... How's Lands to Conquer? There must be others as well.

You might be interested in my Vlad III Dracula Mod for something different.

By no means is it the "best Mod" ever, but I've done a lot of research to present a historically consistent and hopefully accurate portrayal of an often controversial and misunderstood figure in history.

Vlad Dracula was to some a murdered and to others a hero. I let the player decide for themselves, as they take on the role of Dracula the Prince of the Wallachia faction.

My interest in the Mod was to focus on fear and dread--two topics that are very relevant to current world issues. The dread game mechanic works very well to illustrate the points I make in the game.

    I hope you'll give it a shot.

Lands to Conquer is not major mod, it only changes ai and way you play. There are no new units, or changed skins, so I think that we can't call it Major mod.

You guys have, you know, found the mods, right? Unlocking all factions is hardly a mod, it's a command line switch.

I can think of 5 off the top of my head which at the very least fix a huge number of the bugs & gameplay issues in the Vanilla game. There are also many good mods out there which are starting on doing their own thing.

Go check out the mods on TW Center, I would suggest starting with the Winning Combo mod if you want vastly improved bugfixed gameplay.

I agree with you, just want to add that major mods might not happen at all for M2 if CA releases tool you described too late. Frustration level is growing.

Part of bugs might not be fixed even with next patch. To me it seems that M2TW and RTW share the same bugs(which wasn't fixed with BI).

    Hey Lusted,
I was looking over your LtC notes and was curious if your mod has the Papacy, Mongols, and Timurids as playable factions? I didnt see it mentioned so wasnt sure if its not or just not mentioned. I figured I'd ask here real quick. I was thinking of trying out your mod. I'm getting a little bored with the vanilla game.
