Sorry, I don't have any idea or the time to figure it out. But I did want to stop in this thread and say:

Not *that* close Marcus.
Gruffy - in the game the icons will be half the size of those, so they don't look as good really, but they are put together at 4X the size they are in-game, so the detail here is 2X and it looks a lot more detailed than the way you're used to seeing them. I haven't checked out MTW2 on this yet - I'd guess they (building icons) probably are the same old size still.
Here's another hint: 1 and 4 are in the same province.
Could #1 be the River Jordan, and #4 the fortress/city that the Romans besieged in Judea in the 1st century (can't remember the exact name, and wiki has failed me)

Sorry eru. It is a canal, but not in that province.
1) is a canal from Nile to Red Sea! :-D
2) is a Buddhist Stupa, I suspect in the Indian provinces.
4) is one of the old Egyptian Nubian fortresses, a sign of Pharoah's power.

The ramparts/walls in #4 look eastern to me, but due to a total lack of knowedge there I have no idea where.
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.
Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'
#2 is Carthaginian I think, can't remember where I have seen that though.
Edit: here's a pic of same but its named 'phoenician' so could be over by Tyre/Sidon way
I'd say a Carthaginian shrine.
#6 are the temples of Hera & Concordia at Agrigento

maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
4º It's the Akropolis in Athens.
6º The Temple at Halicarnasus (?)
Oh, OK. I'll take one stab since I don't think I've seen this proposed.
#4, right off the bat, looks perhaps like the burial mountain for the Kings of Persia (don't remember the name to be honest.) You know, the one that Darius never quite made it to because he was defeated by Alexander.

I can't help but look at 3 and think heavy, Germanic forests...
The last one looks like that place in Greece, with something dedicated to Asklepion in the area. Forgotten what the exact name was. And number four, is it Syracuse?
