    Question Historical Battle Map strategy?

Since I can't find one thread like this, I thought it will be a good idea just to know how people play with historical maps and any strategy that work. I have tried all the maps but not really won them all.

    - Battle of Agincourt

From my experience, you can just let all your army stand still from their starting position, except I moved one of the infantry columns behind the archers right of King Henry in front of archers and among the sharpened stakes, and two infantry (I believe heavy infantry) left of King Henry (also behind archers) to face backward diagonally. Reason I moved these to anticipate the coming French infantry attack (on first case) and cavalry attack from behind (the latter). Then, just sit tight and watch the battle. Chances are 99% you will win...

    - Battle of Arsuf

Tried thrice, won once. My strategy is try to move two spearmen in the front column as quickly as possible to block the incoming enemy spearmen (there are 300-400 of them I believe). But leave one in middle to anticipate incoming spearmen directly from the front. And use all cavalry to attack the enemy cavalry, the 2 cavs in the front to confront 2 enemy cavs coming from the beach, the 3 in middle (with King Richard?) to deal with enemy cav archers, and the rest behind to attack the enemy cavs position behind the hill. Most of archers should stay where they are and fire at mass enemy spearmen to quickly finish them. The rest of the army, few spearmen at behind, should deal with the enemy infantry waiting on top of hill.

After the enemy cavs on beaches are routed, then they should run ASAP to far behind mass enemy spearmen which just came from the front, otherwise your cav will be slaughtered. Then once in position, charge the spearmen from behind, and they should be finished soon. Then just move all of the army forward, except one spearmen, by this time I found that one of enemy cav still alive although with very few units to charge your achers. I think the rest is cake walk.

    - Battle of Hastings

In my case, the background sound (advisor?) often told me what to do. You should do what he said. Attack Eric's(?) huscarl on the left to weaken the enemy with your archers. Note that the infantry should be waiting closely just behind the archer just in case the enemy decided to mass attack. Cavalry can be used to attack from flank once the enemy flank units are routed to destroy the enemy king...

    - Battle of Otumba

Noticed the cinematic sayings? Yeah, use all your cavalry to charge all enemy light infantry (like peasants) and they should be routed soon. Move your archers and handgunners behind and your melee infantry front of them to anticipate the coming attack. But watch though, the enemy infantry will appear behind from the forest. By this time, half of the enemy main infantry should be routed. Use your cavs and one infantry to deal with them. Reinforcements will come and it should be easy by then...

    - Battle of Pavia

Sometimes when I use this strategy, I'll get Clear Victory, but sometimes, I got defeated. I use my cav to help the Spanish army (kill the Crossbow first) on the other side of castle/manor. Infantry should stayed where they belong first, try move your handgunners a bit to the rear, because they sometimes move their formation themselves, making them easy prey. Once the cavs run (they're not routed, and the enemy cavs will run no matter how many units left, sometimes most of them slaughtered, sometimes only few of them) Rush two of your Zwaihenders to deal with two enemy archer in front and spearmen quickly facing the manor to prepare the incoming infantry...

    - Battle of Tannenberg

Tried once, won, but I forgot how is it. I just followed the what advisor said, with all those units scatter on the map, but...I won!

    - Siege of Setenil

No idea, in my game it quickly LAG as soon as it starts. Someone else should be able to tell more...

Okay, I know these are just from my experience and I believed some people have used brilliant strategy...remember that practice makes perfect
