    Default Roads and distance from capital

    It seems to me different road levels have no influence on capital distance penalty. Could there be a possibility to mod this?
    Highways make the territory more coherent and distant provinces are easier and faster accessible for administration nerds. So distance penalty should decrease with higher road levels.

    Hi, welcome to the forum

    Unfortunately as far as I know the capital distance penalty is hard coded and I don't think its effected by roads.

    You could however add a law bonus to the road 'builiding' in export_descr_buildings so it partly offsets the distance penalty. eg:
    paved_roads requires factions { saxons, franks, eastern, roman, nomad, hun, }
    {
    capability
    law_bonus bonus 1
    {
    road_level 1
    }
    construction 3
    cost 1200
    settlement_min large_town
    upgrades
    {
    highways
    }
    }
    That would only apply to the region the particular road type was built in - it wouldn't give you any greater benefit for being completely linked by highways to your capital.
