Sorry. That's the logo and that was the whole point of having it designed like that - so it's not just a cool unit, but represents the mod. "nerdish" is what EB is about man!

Celt, I wasn't referring on you. It was a general remark. "Soon" is the answer to the ONtopic...

You like EB? Buy CA games.

I would glady wear a europa barbarorum shirt in public. just not one with a Gaesatae on it. The head in his hand kinda make me able to take the image though.

We have decided to remove the image of the Gaesatae that Caratacos drew from the public fora. We've had some criticism of it being on the public threads, and although there was a little debate about it, we do agree that it's best to keep it off the public boards and probably shouldn't have made it up here in the first place. It was actually just designed for the signature banners at first, without the direct intent of putting it on the public boards, but we all still love Caratacos' work so much that it was too tempting to share all of it. And in this case "all of it" was a little too much . The team has made its final decision on the matter, so there is no need to further discuss it here.

So that you're not too disappointed though, here is another piece that Caratacos has done for one of our Sweboz units. Enjoy!

Here is the fan sig banner image:

And finally, I thought I'd release a simple wallpaper design. I was working on this and just thought 'the simpler the better', so here is my first real go at it:

Personally, I'd be more concerned about that scabbard which appears to be made for a smallsword...

yeah it's at the wrong angle (scabbard) for if it was any longer it would go through the ground and I thought that'd look worse. TBH I forgot to do the scabbard entirely so it was a fix up I added later. Initially this piece was done as a sig banner so the details are a bit "relaxed"-- I was only talked into making it a full picture after I had started it. Nonetheless I was somewhat lazy with it.

Leaving that aside, I kinda like the pose and expression. It's like the guy's ducking and going "Whoa!" at the axe hitting his shield.

Granted, there's the "What sonuvabitch messed up my shield?!?!?" angle too.

And "Whoa, that was close - now you're gonna get it pal!"

Don't know about ancient Germanic warriors, but in medieval times scabbards were often hung in an angle, attached with two straps of leather to the main belt (which hung indeed from the shoulder). The belt around the waist was then fastened over the first one; keeping it in place and so.

It's really a nice picture. Could you perhaps post or PM [links to] some of your pencil sketches? I was impressed by the one you made from the legionnaire a few pages ago and it got me curious... (I'm an amateur myself)

I love that pic, it reminds me when two my elite italics launched a volly at the Spatan hoplites flank. The hoplite just rqaised there sheild turned to face them and charged, they took about 2 casulties and the elite italics were not happy. But they charged them aswell, Italies best against the best greeks, awesome...

(Slightly off topic but the pict made me think about it)

War paint was totally old skool for the Gauls though, wasn't it ? And "caedann" sounds awfully Iberian. Would Fuzzy Wuzzy here represent some sort of Celtiberian inbred backwoods hick who never heard painting yourself was so last season or something similar ?

Gaedann sounds celtic. Theres already one warpainted gallic unit recruitable, the pictones. Caturiges were an alpine gallic tribe though, based in modern day Chorges.
