I have never seen the computer build churches, let alone cathedrals. I suspect that it only builds them if you do. Has ANYONE actually seen the computer do this, or is it just one big joke?

Yes I've seen them do it with priests and the whole lot. It does happen.

If you play the Easten clans then you end up with big problems with enemy priests. The Mori and Shimazu are inclined to go Christian I've found, and send in a lot of priests, that you spend forever chasing around your provinces with Ninja. It's a pain, but it's the only way to stop them.
