It is pretty funny, especially given your first post in the Chariot UI Card thread!Originally Posted by Oleo

I have a question, is the Carthaginian bodyguard still the same unit as the sacred band cavalry and in that case would one card be enough?

Hello. Marvelous news.
Just a quick question, have you sorted out the growth rates? I hope so but even if not I'll be playing.
Thank you.
Just quite annoyingly rememberd how I was probably only about 15/20 years from finishing as Carthage. Had half of Iberia and Italy. This makes me a sad panda.

I figured I'd try that Ala Imperatoria again, now with a 'less compromising' position.
For the germanorum pic see my first post, here is the others (as usual Ive screwed up: the western is the eastern and vice versa.):
and the rar with the tga's:

I did the small carthaginian anyway, left is old, right is new.

I think the Eastern Auxilia is the one with the scale armour, your left pic ?
Anyways, excellent work :) Hope to see them in .81![]()
Holy crap, is that all of them? How cool. The final pieces of the 0.81 EB puzzle. Great job Oleo. I only wish I figured out how to do it in time. Well, there's always the next release...
Yeah, the eastern and western are switched in those images. But they look pretty good. I think they'll be in time to make it also (hopefully).

Indeed (as I too pointed out) the two auxilia are switched, I didnt wanna upload it again after I noticed.

All I do is run them around a bit in custom battle, load the replay with the movie_cam and take a few screenshots of each, then edit it with photoshop.Originally Posted by Wonderland

Nice job Oleo. Do you use Photoshop because it took you astoundingly little time to make them.
That is why the new version of GIMP with SIOX needs to come out ASAP.
Great pics!!!!
But one thing I noticed, the Carthaginean Sacred Band Cavalry has a clipping problem with it`s shield and it`s leg... other than that, the perspective of the pic is awesome!!!!
Nice work man! And there's definitely time to get these into the patch. There's a chance we might also get a few of these from our in-house artists before the deadline, but either way the gap has been closed!Originally Posted by Oleo

Tnx for the kind words, everybody.
Eb-artist cards are generally better than mine, so it would be great if they are able to chunk some out before 0.81.![]()

Well done Oleo, and thanks to Wonderland and Kull for creating the opportunity to fill the gap.
I'm really looking forward to EB 0.81.![]()

Oh, I'm not sure what you mean but just in case there's some sort of misunderstanding, I'm not part of the EB team so all the thanks goes to Kull and the rest of them.Originally Posted by econ21

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that we won't be using Oleo's nice new UI cards in the v.81 Patch. The good news is that one of our talented artists ponied up a full set of them at the last minute (and they are already part of the current build). At this point we can't find a single peasant card, so that's a plus (although i wouldn't be shocked if one or two somehow crawl out of the woodwork after the release).
As to the v.81 Release Date, we are testing the as-it-will-be-released build right now, and although a few unexpected problems cropped up, they've already been fixed. A new CTD also appeared, but it was the result of deliberately provoking rebellions (i.e it had never been seen during normal game play) and seems to affect only one faction, so we're not going to hold up the release for a fix. Bottom line, we are still on target for meeting our release date goal.

Plus he did some other temporary cards too - and these were the first ones he had done for us. They are really good also, so we are thrilled to realize he had that other skill too.![]()

Ah, so there is an actual release date goal. Now that it's been clearly implied that this release isn't at a "when it's done" stage, when exactly is that release date goal?Originally Posted by Kull

Careful what you ask for Wonderland... if they told you they'd have to kill you...

This is good news indeed. Might actually be able to play a full campaign of EB instead of quiting every twenty years to start a new faction.
I was wondering if the problem with Carthage was fixed, in where they would stock pile troops just outside their city and do nothing with them. This was only a problem when I played the Romans, and they repeated the same pattern the half dozen times I played the Roman faction. Or was this something that only I had encountered (played on H\H)?

We absolutely have no way of making a faction not make a bunch of stacks and do nothing with them. No mod that I know of has the ability to make an AI faction "do" anything really along those lines. It's not an EB bug or anything like that - that's for certain.
(The only time a mod could have control over that sort of thing would be if the stacks were all congregating at a place where there was a map problem, like a needed ford or some other weird issue, and we aren't talking about that sort of thing here at all as far as anyone has ever reported.)
