Default Medieval Total War II Question

I've been playing Rome Total War for about two years now and am quite used to the way it works.

I recently bought and managed to install the Eras package with Medieval and Shogun TW as well.

Needless to say, there is quite a change in how they work. I've placed Shogun on the shelf for the time being while I try to figure out Medieval, and it is certainly taking some getting used to.

My question is this; "Does the Medieval TW II operate in the same way as Medieval and Shogun, or is it more like Rome TW with movement points for different units, mountain passes, seasons, troops on ships for trips to here and there?"

    Thank you.

It's the same kind of thing as RTW.

M2TW has the same engine as Rome TW. Meaning you get twice the graphics and half the fun of M:TW.
