There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

He can gift the cars to me if he wants to![]()
That's very likely. I see license plates on those cars, which means that they were owned by people. If someone owned all those cars, then that person would have to pay a lot of insurance. Was insurance required back then?Originally Posted by Fisherking

Wooooo!!!
Well regardless of whether they are stolen or not there are sure to be some he'll be allowed to keep, I doubt all the owners for these cars are still alive. Hope he's able to afford the proper restoration of a few of them so that he doesn't have to sell too many.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

The real irony of the story being (if these studies are true), that Norwegians statistically have the lowest car-ownership ratio of any industrialized nation. The fellow in this story will have single-handedly, with the opening of one mystery door, put Norway on par with the UK, in terms of automobile ownership.
Some of those vehicles look pristine, others need a bit (or a lot) of work. Any follow-on stories about what the guy's gonna do with all that hardware?
