Finishing the game nowhere takes that long. In my venetian migration campaign, i have 33 provinces at turn 40 and I had to waste about 10 turns migrating to the levant. You can easily find people who finishes long campaigns in under 60 turns with a good well planned blitz expansion in the beginning

When I first starting playing the game, I, too, thought that winning in 225 turns would be impossible. In fact, it was, the first time I played.
However, I have just succeeded in winning another (amongst many) campaign, this time as the English, in 217 turns. I didn't feel rushed, in fact, I took my time ( I thought ) and enjoyed it thoroughly.
With practice and efficient organization, winning in the allotted time frame is very possible.
