I am able to continue my Baktrian campaign now, as it ctd-ed all the time in 0.80. Now it runs all smooth and fancy....
I love the look, the gameplay and the Baktrian faction is becoming my favourite yet...still curious about Saka, but will have to end the Baktris 1st.

It's not supposed to be save game compatible at all with 0.80, but if it works for you, then knock yourself out.![]()

I just have to come out and say this:
After downloading 0.81 and playing around 30 turns into a new Carthaginian campaign, I have two words for the EB team.
THANK YOU!!!!

You dont have to delet it if your first game is 0.81. Than you have the right map.rwm. It needs to be deleted only if you played 0.80, befor, because the game would use a file whit inacured informations, causing problems to your gameplay.Originally Posted by Domitius Ulpianus
I don't understand, is the map.rwm file supposed to be there after you start your first game? Because I have deleted it several times now but it seems to be reappearing in the folder every so often.Originally Posted by Ower
The "map.rwm" file is a file that is created by referencing many different files that make up all aspects of the RTW strat map. It is required for RTW to run. Whenever you start RTW, it will check for the "map.rwm", if there is none, it will make a new one. This is a good thing.Originally Posted by CaesarAugustus
However, if there have been changes to the files that are referenced when making it, you will need to delete it so that it will make a updated one. Not deleting it after those files have been changed/saved over will cause the game to 1-run using the prechanged map, 2-crash, or 3-intermix some aspects but the bulk is not present.
You only need to delete the "map.rwm" when you download a mod or mod patch (that or change the map files yourself).
The EB installer does not contain an "map.rwm" file, so everytime you first play a fresh install (not patch, fresh install) it will make a new one. That one will be good as long as you don't change/patch/update your game.
Out of curiosity have you guys removed the Gaesatae mercinaries from the recruitable mercinary locations? because in V8.0 it was fairly easy to get ahold of them (lots of dangly bits to grab I suppose) but now they appear to have disappeared, also the ones I had hired already have disappeared also.
The first time I loaded up version 8.1 to see if my campaign was still ok, when I closed it i got an error message after EB closed down saying that it was unable to load the Gaesatae unit card.
It really upsets and distresses me when naked men mysterious disappear after I install a patch.
Help me Europa Barbarorum, you are my only hope.
