If you have never started EB since removing it last, you won't have the map.rwm.Originally Posted by Domitius Ulpianus

I am able to continue my Baktrian campaign now, as it ctd-ed all the time in 0.80. Now it runs all smooth and fancy....
I love the look, the gameplay and the Baktrian faction is becoming my favourite yet...still curious about Saka, but will have to end the Baktris 1st.

It's not supposed to be save game compatible at all with 0.80, but if it works for you, then knock yourself out.![]()

I just have to come out and say this:
After downloading 0.81 and playing around 30 turns into a new Carthaginian campaign, I have two words for the EB team.
THANK YOU!!!!

You dont have to delet it if your first game is 0.81. Than you have the right map.rwm. It needs to be deleted only if you played 0.80, befor, because the game would use a file whit inacured informations, causing problems to your gameplay.Originally Posted by Domitius Ulpianus

Odd, I couldn't get the internal version (just pre0.81) to work with saved games, and I tried changing a bunch of stuff around. I ended up settling for dumping the 0.81 UI folder on top of the 0.80 UI folder.Originally Posted by Teleklos Archelaou
I don't understand, is the map.rwm file supposed to be there after you start your first game? Because I have deleted it several times now but it seems to be reappearing in the folder every so often.Originally Posted by Ower
The "map.rwm" file is a file that is created by referencing many different files that make up all aspects of the RTW strat map. It is required for RTW to run. Whenever you start RTW, it will check for the "map.rwm", if there is none, it will make a new one. This is a good thing.Originally Posted by CaesarAugustus
However, if there have been changes to the files that are referenced when making it, you will need to delete it so that it will make a updated one. Not deleting it after those files have been changed/saved over will cause the game to 1-run using the prechanged map, 2-crash, or 3-intermix some aspects but the bulk is not present.
You only need to delete the "map.rwm" when you download a mod or mod patch (that or change the map files yourself).
The EB installer does not contain an "map.rwm" file, so everytime you first play a fresh install (not patch, fresh install) it will make a new one. That one will be good as long as you don't change/patch/update your game.

Growth rate of cities has been changed - the base farming levels for many cities have been altered to slow things down. Growth will likely be balanced further in future versions, so please give us feedback on city growth in 0.81 after you've played a decently long game (ie, at 200 BC, 150 BC, etc).Originally Posted by olly

EDIT: It's just the Rebel faction that does this.
Wow. I've played ten turns as Saba now, and have become completely immersed. And that's even considering the fact that of all factions it probably still needs the most work! It really feels unique, a small Arabian kingdom fighting far from the centre of conflict, slowly uniting Arabia before unleashing a great storm on the rest of the world (at least, that's what I hope for). The emphasis on light infantry really has me playing in a completely different style to when I played as phalanx-heavy Epirus.
Great work, and good luck with further updates!

I think its a rather proven fact that EB Team + EB = Godly
Out of curiosity have you guys removed the Gaesatae mercinaries from the recruitable mercinary locations? because in V8.0 it was fairly easy to get ahold of them (lots of dangly bits to grab I suppose) but now they appear to have disappeared, also the ones I had hired already have disappeared also.
The first time I loaded up version 8.1 to see if my campaign was still ok, when I closed it i got an error message after EB closed down saying that it was unable to load the Gaesatae unit card.
It really upsets and distresses me when naked men mysterious disappear after I install a patch.
Help me Europa Barbarorum, you are my only hope.

Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your mod. I have been playing RTR for the last 18 months and while waiting for new 7.0, I needed a new challenge. I had heard good things about EB so finally decided to try it for myself. Im only a few turns into a KH campaign and loving it.
Thanks guys, great work, keep it up.
Hi I recently downloaded and installed the full installation version of v0.81. When I open the EB shortcut I am taken to a screen that just says Europa Barbarorum A modification for Rome Total War and it stays there. I have waited ten minutes and I was still on the same screen. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.
If you have a slower computer, the very first startup will take longer as the map.rwm file is generating. But that only takes place when you are going to the campaign. Your download (of the installer) may have been interrupted or corrupted. If you try it again, make sure to download the full 0.81a install instead. And make sure your build is RTW 1.5 to begin with. That is critical.
Alright, I am downloading the v0.81 full installer. I noticed that with my last download, EB installed a folder called EB inside my Rome Total War folder. Is it supposed to create this folder, or modify the folders already in the RTW folder? And my build is up to RTW 1.5. Thanks again for your help.

It creates that new folder, but it puts just a handful of new files into your base RTW folder also. If you just started downloading 0.81 as a full install, why not download 0.81a as a full install instead? It will mean you don't have to put the patch on (and the "a" patch solves several errors).
edit: I see on the EB website, we only have the 0.81a full install on there, and not the 0.81 full install anymore. That's good and reduces confusion.

Thanks for the help. It works now. I haven't had a chance to actually play it yet, but I looked at the some of the factions in the Custom Battle. It looks Awesome!
I've been unable to connect to the FTP server for the last day or so. Is it just me, or is there a problem?
